A new pedestrian bridge over the Southern Highlands railway line has opened at The Village, Menangle, improving access across the fast-growing area.
The bridge links both sides of the development and provides access to Menangle Station, the village centre and Rotolactor Park.
Delivered by Mirvac with project partners, the bridge was officially opened over the weekend by Wollondilly MP Judy Hannan and Wollondilly councillor Suzy Brandstater.
Ms Hannan said the bridge would improve safety for residents moving between both sides of the township.
“This new pedestrian bridge makes it easier and safer for people to move across Menangle,” she said.
Cr Brandstater said the project would support the area as development continues.
“This is an important piece of infrastructure as Menangle grows,” she said.
The opening comes as development continues to accelerate in the Menangle area, with population growth increasing demand for local infrastructure and access.
The project was marked with a community event.
