Landcom to build new bridge over Hume Motorway
Landcom will build a new bridge over the Hume Motorway to improve access to and from North Wilton.

Landcom will build a new bridge over the Hume Motorway to improve access to and from North Wilton.
The existing Niloc Bridge will be converted into a dedicated pedestrian and cycle path.
The developer has also announced plans to build new entry and exit ramps to improve motorway access, reduce local traffic and connect North Wilton to key town centres.
The project has already been approved with construction expected to commence this year.
Construction is expected to take approximately 18 months.
Landcom says the infrastructure is “vital” to the growth of North Wilton and the wider Wilton area.
When complete, it says, motorists will be able to make smoother, faster journeys locally and when travelling to Campbelltown, Sydney and beyond.
The new ramps – a northbound entry ramp and a southbound exit ramp – will become the main access points to and from the North Wilton precinct.
Associated infrastructure will include new traffic lights at the intersection of the exit ramp and Fairway Drive.
Motorists will use the new northbound ramp to enter the Hume Motorway from North Wilton and the future Wilton Town Centre.
The ramp will start approximately 300 metres south of the existing Niloc Bridge and will join the Hume Motorway as a merge land underneath the bridge.
The new southbound ramp will allow motorists to exit the Hume Highway and enter directly into Bingara Gorge by turning left or North Wilton by turning right and travelling over the new bridge.
Landcom is planning to build approximately 5600 homes in the North Wilton precinct over the next 25 years as well as public infrastructure including schools, sporting fields and a new town centre.
Landcom says the project will relieve traffic on Fairway Drive, Pembroke Parade, Picton Road and the Hume Motorway-Picton Road interchange.
It will also enhance safety and connectivity for cyclists and pedestrians via the Niloc Bridge.
The new bridge will be approximately 66 metres long and will have three lanes – two westbound and one eastbound.
