Land site for health hub secured
A land site has been secured by the NSW Government for the future Wilton Integrated Health Hub (WIHH), in an announcement today by Member for Wollondilly, Judy Hannan.

The Wilton Growth Area currently covers approximately 4,000 hectares and is planned to accommodate 15,000 to 17,000 new homes, housing an eventual population of around 50,000 people.
"I am excited to share news that the process of identifying an appropriate and accessible land site to establish the future Wilton Integrated Health Hub by the NSW Government has commenced," Ms. Hannan said.
According to Ms. Hannan, the Wilton Integrated Health Hub would bring together 'multi-disciplinary health care under a single roof in an accessible location, reducing the need to travel outside the Wollondilly electorate for health services.'
"Wilton Health Hub will help meet the needs of the existing and growing community, securing the future of health services for the broader Macarthur and Southern Highlands region," Ms. Hannan said.
"Supported by the tertiary public hospital in Campbelltown and the Bowral and District Hospital, this announcement is a game-changer.
"Wollondilly residents would have access to timely, quality care provided by South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) in Wollondilly. This announcement represents a government response to improve equity.
"Integrated services at the Wilton Health Hub will support prevention, early detection, treatment and ongoing management of chronic and complex conditions," Ms. Hannan added.
"NSW Health specifically identifies improving population health outcomes and chronic disease management as objectives of integrated care.
"In the future, local residents and workers of all ages may access a broader range of free public health services in one location through a coordinated network."
She also outlined that benefits to the health hub would include reduced time spent commuting to and from the closest public hospitals in Campbelltown and Bowral; reducing pressure on emergency departments and decreasing waiting times in emergency departments of public hospitals and facilitating patient discharges from public hospitals.
"The existing Wollondilly and Southern Highlands’ health issues and outcomes have been compromised by the long distances of up to 80km, traffic congestion including freight and logistics movements on busy roads crossing through the electorate, lack of reliable public rail services and lack of public hospitals to the north and centre of Wollondilly electorate," Ms. Hannan said.
Wollondilly Mayor Matt Gould also expressed his thanks to the NSW Government and Ms. Hannan for her advocacy on the Hub.
“I’m thrilled that the NSW Government is taking real leadership and coming on board to provide this essential service for Wollondilly residents," Mayor Gould said.
"The Wilton Integrated Health Hub will be transformational and it’s critical that suitable land is acquired for a future Wilton Hospital.
“Our community from all over Wollondilly deserves good access to health services, and on top of this, Wilton’s population is expected to rival or exceed that of other regional towns with hospitals such as Wagga Wagga, Port Macquarie, and Orange.
"It is common sense that we have the infrastructure ready to support the essential health services our community needs now and in the future.
“Council has been advocating and working hand-in-hand with the NSW Government for many years on this project, and it’s great to see this sustained constructive advocacy deliver a result for Wollondilly.
"Congratulations and thank you must also go to the NSW Minister for Health, The Hon. Ryan Park MP, who has delivered this outcome for our community, to our local members Judy Hannan MP, whose ongoing support for this project has been invaluable, Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren MP for his strong advocacy, and to the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) for caring for our local community.
“A central plank to our advocacy work was the Wollondilly Health Alliance Health Needs Assessment in 2024, which clearly recommended the NSW Government plan now for integrated health care hubs with urgent care and secure land for a future hospital.
“The opportunity to secure land for this health infrastructure is time-critical, and it is vital that enough land is acquired to future-proof the region and develop a future Wilton Hospital.
"As Wilton develops, suitable sites will become harder and more expensive to acquire. I congratulate the Government for acquiring this land now before the opportunity is lost.
“This announcement also clearly shows that our constructive advocacy under Council’s Future Wollondilly gets results.
"I congratulate my fellow Councillors and all Council staff involved for your part in achieving what is a true transformation in health services for our community.
“Thank you also to our advocacy partners for their support and commitment to securing positive outcomes for Wollondilly.”
