Robertson-Burrawang edge out Mittagong in thriller

At Bradman Oval, newcomers Mittagong came agonisingly close to an upset against Robertson-Burrawang in what proved the match of the round.

Batting first, Robertson steadily compiled runs while losing regular wickets. Jack Whitfield led from the front with a composed 74 from 106 balls. Mittagong’s Will Torr ripped through the tail, finishing with 4–31.

Chasing 198, Mittagong slumped to 5–59 before a stirring 71-run stand between James Keys and Mark Davies. Keys was brutal, launching five fours and three sixes into surrounding streets — one local dog-walker reportedly shouting, “Can you change the bowler!”

Despite the late heroics, Mittagong fell just 9 runs short.

Hill Top too strong for Moss Vale

Over at Lackey Park, Hill Top’s depth again proved decisive, securing a 5-wicket win over Moss Vale.

Moss Vale managed 144 in the 44th over, with veteran Dean Roxburgh steadying the innings with 35 runs. Young guns Patrick Bruckshaw (31) and Mackenzie Perry (25) added late runs, but Hill Top’s Daniel Debs was the standout with 4–30.

In reply, Hill Top chased down the total in the 37th over. David Spies had a strong start to the season with 55.

Bowral hang on against Wingello

At Welby, Bowral clung on for a narrow win over Wingello.

Wingello were bowled out for 141 despite a fighting 50 from Grant Pike. Bowral’s Cameron Belshaw was devastating, taking 6–20 — sending a clear message to rival sides.

Bowral scraped home in the 32nd over, eight wickets down, with Dale Wellington nearly turning it for Wingello thanks to 5–24, including four of the first five wickets.
