FRIDAY MARCH 6
Inaugural Bundanoon Portrait Prize and Exhibition 2026
In collaboration with its subcommittee Arts Bundanoon, the Bundanoon Community Association is officially opening their inaugural Bundanoon Portrait Prize and Exhibition with a Gala Night tonight from 6pm – 8pm.
Entertainment will include live music from band ‘The Trouble with Johnny’ and announcement of the major awards, with the First Place getter receiving a $4,000 prize. The People’s Choice award will be announced at the end of the exhibition on March 20.
The exhibition brings together artists from all over Australia to capture the faces of the Southern Highlands.
Renowned local judges Jane Cush and Pam Tippett will also be on hand to judge the winners of the prize.
The exhibition is held at the White Gallery, 39 Railway Avenue, Bundanoon. Refreshments will also be provided.

Colo Vale Community Market, Village Hall
Held on the first Saturday of every month (except January), the Colo Vale Market is on again this Saturday from 8:30am – 1:30pm.
With fresh produce, artisan gifts, local market stalls as well as delicious Devonshire teas and other sweet treats, you’re guaranteed to find a bargain.
There will also be a BBQ and coffee truck on hand, too. Whilst there, also check out the historic railway station opposite the hall, which is currently undergoing restoration due to the Loop Line works by the NSW State Government and the NSW Rail Museum.

SUNDAY MARCH 8
ProVelo – Stage 3 Kangaloon Road Race
Stage 3 of the ProVelo cycling road race will be held at Kangaloon this Sunday from 9am – 4pm.
Known as the ‘Southern Highlands Queen Stage’, riders undertake a 25.3km loop over a 420-metre elevation climb, with views over the Wingecarribee Reservoir and passing through the pretty hamlets of East Kangaloon and Glenquarry and then a challenging rise back up into Kangaloon.
The women will start at 9:15am and finish at 12:15pm, with the men starting at 12:45pm and finishing at 3:45pm.
The Stage will also host members of the Pro Velo ‘Echelon Club’ with access to front-row access to the racing and hospitality on offer.
Spectators, however, can also enjoy the race all along the circuit.

Live Music at the Tahmoor Inn
The weekly live music sessions are on again at the Tahmoor Inn this Friday and Saturday night, with Mark Broughton this Friday night from 6pm-9pm and Joseph Trueman from 8pm-11pm on Saturday night and Grace from 1pm to 4pm this Sunday afternoon as well.
Entry is free and enjoy a meal at the Tahmoor Inn from their extensive Bistro Menu.

Annual Wollondilly ‘Great Scone Bake Off,’ Levande Waratah Highlands Village, Bargo
That’s right folks, the annual Wollondilly Great Scone Bake Off is on again at the Levande Waratah Highlands Retirement Village in Bargo this Saturday from 11am to 2pm.
Hosted by the Country Women’s Association (CWA) Picton Branch, the event is free and is part of the Wollondilly Shire’s 2026 Seniors Festival schedule.
Competition often gets heated (pardon the pun) between bakers, and there’s also great prizes on offer for the winner.
A free sausage sizzle is also on offer for those who might not want scones. There will also be a Preserves Masterclass held by the CWA Picton Branch as well as an exhibition of local award-winning artists, local market stalls, a fishing challenge in the village’s lake, and even a Retirement Living Info Session as well as tours of Levande’s villas.
The prize for the best scones is an exclusive experience at Centennial Vineyards in Bowral for four adults and two children. Experience a Chef’s Tasting Lunch, cellar door experience, plus wine to purchase and enjoy at home.

Picton Cars and Coffee
The monthly Picton Cars and Coffee is on again at Davison Lane and the Picton Bowling Club in the Picton CBD this Sunday morning from 7am.
The Bowling Club provides breakfast of a sausage sandwich or egg & bacon roll, with an opportunity to grab a coffee from any of the local Picton coffee shops including Moses Barnes, Picton Social, and more.

Bush Traditions - OZ Music Sessions
The Goulburn Club will be holding their Bush Traditions- Oz Music Session tonight from 7:30pm to 11pm.
It’s an evening for listening to, singing, reciting poetry, and participating in Australian folk music with songs, dances, poems and much more.
Each month also has a theme to focus interest on where songs and poems are hunted out, practiced and performed, bringing out a different aspect of their heritages.

Hobbies Expo 2026 at the Goulburn Mulwaree Library
As part of the Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s celebration of NSW Seniors Week for 2026, the Goulburn Mulwaree Library is holding a Hobbies Expo from 3pm to 5pm.
The event provides an opportunity for not only seniors, but anyone interested in the large variety of hobby groups and clubs throughout the shire that they can join or take part in.
Representatives from these groups will be on hand to answer any questions and hold some demonstrations of what they do.
It’s a free drop-in event, with no bookings required.

Creative Expression with Lizzy Medynskyj
Not your typical art class, this class will involve calming meditation and guided visualisation session which can then help with the artistic process. Whether you’ve never drawn before or can do it every day, there is no judgement in this art class.
It’s being hosted in partnership with the Visual Arts Society of Yass (VASY).
All art materials are provided.
