Pinehaven Chestnut Farm season opening
March is the official start of the chestnut season, and runs for six weeks until April, so Pinehaven Chestnut Farm will be open every weekend until the end of April (including the Easter weekend) for people to come and visit the farm at Wingello and experience the wonder of picking them, learning how to roast and cook them, and much more.

The Mittagong Markets are on again this Saturday from 8am to 2pm at the corner of Queen St and Albert Lane, Mittagong, outside the Senior Citizens and Community Centre.
It has a wonderful array of local produce, food stalls, artisan gift stalls and much more.

Challenge Southern Highlands 75th Anniversary Event
Challenge Southern Highlands is opening up Welby Garden Centre all day this Saturday to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Challenge Southern Highlands.
Specials guests will include author Tammy Huynh who will be signing copies of her book ‘The Plant Book: the ultimate guide to thriving houseplants’, and local country musician Amber Kenny.
There will also be food trucks and a twilight market featuring local stallholders, and family-friendly activities including face-painting, a scavenger hunt and more.

SUNDAY MARCH 22
Highlands Running Festival
Hosted by Race Hub and everydaybetter+ at Oxley College’s Bray Fields this Sunday, the Highlands Running Festival features several running events including a 21.1km half marathon, 10km, 5km, or a family – friendly 2km dash.
Each runner competing gets to take home a special Southern Highlands finisher’s medal, as well as enjoy post – race treats, sponsor goodies and receive an online finisher’s certificate.
Registration opens from 7am, with the 10km event commencing from 8am. The prize-giving ceremony will then take place once all the events are completed at around 10:30am.

The weekly Coffee and Curves motorcycle event hosted by the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC) is on again at the Burra Bakery in Oakdale.
Starting from 8am and running through until 10am, bring your classic motorcycle and enjoy some breakfast at the bakery and a coffee and then embark on a ride through the Wollondilly area.

Ultimate Wildlife Experience, Australian Wildlife Sanctuary, Bargo
The Australian Wildlife Sanctuary holds a one hour private wildlife experience tailored purely for groups. There’s an opportunity to walk through open woodlands and meet kangaroos and emus, rare marsupials, reptiles and even forest favourites such as the Tawny Frogmouth and Ring-tailed possums.
The tour is suitable for all ages, with those under five free. Every booking goes towards the Australian Wildlife Sanctuary, as it is a registered charity.

Goulburn Multicultural Harmony Day
The Goulburn Multicultural Centre is hosting a Harmony Day event with cultural dances and a BBQ as well as Italiano street food run by Echo Love Australia at Belmore Park.
There will also be performances from the Goulburn Region Ukelele Band (GRUB) and Zumba with ZIN Heni.
“Harmony Day is a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home – from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from many countries around the world,” Heni Hardi from the Goulburn Multicultural Centre said.
“By participating in Harmony Day activities, we can learn and understand how all Australians from diverse backgrounds equally belong to this nation and enrich it.
The event commences from 11am through until 1pm at 173 Auburn St, Goulburn.

Pictures and Popcorn in the Park – Belmore Park
To celebrate a decade of the Pictures and Popcorn in the Park, Goulburn Mulwaree Council is hosting a whole day event from 12pm – 9pm with four movies the whole family will love.
Those movies are:
Monsters Inc. (1pm)
Cars (3pm)
Despicable Me (5pm) and
10 Things I Hate About You (7pm).
There will also be a load of children’s activities, some free but each child will be allocated a $5 unlimited wristband.
There will also be an Eat Street section of the park with a wide variety of food options on offer, as well as a Pictures and Popcorn candy bar, too.

The Great Southern Motorcycle Only Swap Meet
Hosted by the Classic Riders Club of Goulburn, the Great Southern Motorcycle Only Swap Meet is a chance for traders who travel from all over Australia to come and swap their motorcycles and motorcycle-related paraphernalia.
The event runs all morning from 6am through until 2pm, and also includes breakfast, lunch, coffee, drinks and ice creams available for purchase, as well as a Classic Riders’ Club stall and cold water.

Joe Conroy’s music is a fusion of ‘earthy acoustic guitar storytelling mixed with epic layers of other-worldly synths’.

Yass Show
The 163rd Yass Show is on this Saturday at the Showgrounds in Grand Junction Rd.
First started way back in 1863, the Yass Show is one of the older agricultural shows in NSW, and features all the usual show events including horse events, pet competitions, shearing, yard dog trials, an animal patting paddock, woodchopping, shearing displays and much more.
There will also be pavilion exhibits such as cooking, needlecraft, fruit, veggies, plants, flowers, wool, honey, cheese and photography.
Food will also be provided by local community groups and vendors.
The show runs from 8am – 5pm and is located at 16 Grand Junction Rd, Yass.
Tickets are $10 for adults, ages 5-18 $5, and under 5’s free. A family ticket costs $25. There is also a $5 charge for parking.
