With hits like ‘Hotel California’, ‘Take it Easy’ and ‘Lying’ Eyes’, American band The Eagles were the soundtrack to many teenagers and young adults lives throughout the 1970s and 80s.

The One of these Nights – The Eagles Experience will be performing at the Robertson Public House & Kitchen this Friday night from 6pm – 10pm.

Good Times: Free & Fun Community Event!, Wingecarribee Shire Council Chambers, Moss Vale

Ran by the St Vincent de Paul Creative Space initiative in partnership with Wingecarribee Shire Council, the Good Times: Free and Fun Community Event will be held at the Civic Centre in Moss Vale this Saturday morning from 11am – 1pm.

The event is a celebration of the Creative Space’s Annual Art Show, with artworks on display in the Civic Centre’s atrium.

Dress code is ‘dress snazzy’ - as colourful and creative as possible!

Featuring music and entertainment from Interchange band ‘Higher than High’ and performances by Zero Central Circus and with a large sensory space hosted by Highlands Community Centres, the morning is guaranteed to be a hit with both kids and youth from across the Highlands.

There will also be delicious food platters served by the CS Healthy Food Crew and direct art sales throughout the day (EFTPOS is welcome).

Blacksheep Auctions at Moss Vale Showground

Run by auctioneers Kev, Jack and Billy Danzey, the Blacksheep Auctions are on again this Sunday at Moss Vale Showground from 10am – 4pm.

The auctions sell what they describe as ‘ANTIQUES – VINTAGE - GARDEN SALVAGE – COUNTRY JUNQUE & EXOTIC TRASHISH’, with the auction traditionally held every two months on the second weekend of that month.

(NOTE: All Lots Are Unreserved. Due to the enormous number of items being sold Blacksheep will only be accepting items suitable to the theme of the auction. They also reserve the right to accept or refuse any item.)

(2ND NOTE: They now also accept absentee bidding. All bids must be submitted at the onsite office, on the day.)

Bargo Dingo Sanctuary

Every Friday and Saturday, support the Bargo Dingo Sanctuary by booking a ticket to visit the friendly dingos.

All visitors, enthusiasts, schools and groups are encouraged to visit, interact with and learn about the true Australian dog and how they benefit the threatened Australian ecosystem.

Ticket prices are $5 (children under 16), $10 for adults, and as an optional extra a Personal Dingo Encounter costs $10.

Come and Try Traditional Archery Day with Macarthur Traditional Archers (MTA)

The Macarthur Traditional Archers Come & Try days are an opportunity to try archery in the traditional way.

The minimum age to participate is 9. (Please note, children must have strength to be able to pull the bow back).

There is no upper age limit, with their oldest member in their 80’s!

Participants must also wear enclosed shoes, long pants are recommended and remember to slip, slop, slap.

9.15am registration for a 9.30am start.

All equipment is supplied and expert instruction is provided.

Information on how to join their club will also be provided on the day.

Cost is $30 for over 16 and $20 under 16 (per participant) with a sausage sizzle & can of drink provided.

Individuals, couples, friends and families also welcome!

Coffee & Curves, Oakdale

The weekly Coffee & Curves event is on again at the Burra Bakery in Oakdale this Saturday starting from 8am through to 10am.

Hosted by the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC), the Coffee & Curves event is a space for classic motorcycle riders to meet, enjoy a coffee and some breakfast and then go for a ride around the Wollondilly area.

Picton Cars and Coffee is a monthly meetup from 7am – 9:30am for motoring enthusiasts.

Grab a coffee and other breakfast items from one of the local cafes around town such as Picton Social, Moses Barnes, Denada’s Cafe & Leaf & Bean Cafe.

After a sensational turn up for their past ‘get togethers,’ they are looking forward to seeing everybody again.

The move has been made to ensure vehicles are not impacted by significant potholes and erosion in the other carpark.

Social Media and Other Questions, Goulburn Mulwaree Library

Held from 11am to 1pm today, the Goulburn Mulwaree Library’s social media workshop for June will begin with a presentation about the internet’s most popular social media applications – from what is what, when to use different platforms for different functions, to setting up your own profile.

Following the introductory overview, their mentor Steve will open the session up to questions and tailor the content based on your needs!

The session is free, however registrations are still essential.

Lieder Theatre Company Presents: Letters to Lindy

LETTERS TO LINDY by Alana Valentine brings into focus aspects of the Azaria Chamberlain case never heard before.

Directed by the Goulburn Lieder Theatre’s Blake Selmes, the play has a cast of five actors bringing to life the real words from the collection of 20,000 letters that Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton received from the public following the disappearance of her daughter, taken from the family tent by a dingo at Uluru in 1980.

A deeply human account of one of the most infamous legal cases in Australia’s history. Goulburn local Erin Williams portrays Lindy herself, expressing Lindy’s personal experience – drawn from real interviews between Lindy and playwright Alana Valentine. The limited 7-show season opens tonight (June 12) at 7:30pm (in partnership with Goulburn Labour as a special fundraiser).

On Thursday 18th June, there will also be a Q & A session with special guest Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton herself, also at 7:30pm.

Held on the second Saturday of every month, the Goulburn Rotary Parkside Markets is a regional produce and artisan market for the region’s talented makers and producers.

The markets are traditionally held in Montague St, adjacent to Belmore Park. A project of the Goulburn Rotary Club, at the markets you will find something for each of your senses – coffee, flowers, food, preserves, plants, candles, jewellery and so much more. All funds raised from the market go to support Rotary charities and projects.

Goulburn Poultry Fanciers' Society - Pure Breed Auction

Commencing early from 7am and running all day through until 5pm, the Goulburn Poultry Fanciers Society Pure Breed Auction is on again this Sunday.

The Goulburn Poultry Fanciers’ Society poultry auctions average 80 plus vendors and 100 plus buyers with over 1,000 fowl in more than 500 pens.

The extensive range varies, but generally includes a selection of soft feather, hard feather, standard, bantam, waterfowl, purebred, rare, crossbreeds, guinea fowl, peafowl, turkeys, pheasants and other bird breeds such as quail, parrots and finches, plus the sale of equipment such as incubators, feeders and carry boxes. Buyers should bring boxes, cages or other suitable containers to transport birds home after purchase.

Goulburn Poultry Fanciers’ Society support and enforce the RSPCA ban on transporting birds to or from the auction in bags/sacks or tied by the legs. EFTPOS facilities are available plus there is also a canteen available on the day.
