Mittagong Markets

Held on the third and fifth Saturday of every month, the Mittagong Markets are on again tomorrow from 8am – 2pm.

Held at the Mittagong Senior Citizens & Community Centre, they have a good variety of stalls selling unique gifts, local produce and food.

Rotary Moss Vale Showground Markets

Held on the third Sunday of every month from 9am to 2pm, the Rotary Moss Vale Showground Markets are on again this Sunday.

The markets feature an array of stalls selling everything from food stalls, coffee and cakes, handcrafted goods, plants and fresh produce, collectibles, trash and treasure, pet apparel, preserves and honey, local distillery stalls, opals and jewellery, plus Rotary scones served with jam and cream.

FRIDAY AUGUST 14

Bach in the dark - Classics at Picton

Held at St Mark's Anglican Church in Picton's CBD, Bach in the Dark – Classics at Picton is on tonight from 7pm.

Bach in the Dark will present a delightful program of music, played by cellists Rachel Scott and her former teacher David Periera.

There’ll also be musical sparkles from other composers such as Boccherini, dances by Bartok, sets of variations by Kummer and Pereira, finishing with an incredible arrangement of Bach’s 'Chaconne' from his second violin partita – wonderful music to stay with you after the concert ends.

Tickets are $35 and must be pre-purchased (a glass of wine or juice included).

Picton Park Run

Held every Saturday morning from 7:55am to 9am, the Picton Park Run is on at the Picton Botanic Gardens (enter via Cliffe St).

Enjoy a fun free, weekly, timed 5km walk/jog/run. Open to all ages and abilities, and the event is run by volunteers. To register go to the link at https://www.parkrun.com.au/picton/.

Dilly Doggy Day Out

The annual Dilly Doggy Day Out, hosted by Wollondilly Shire Council, is on again this year at the Bargo Sportsground from 9am to 1pm.

Enjoy a day out celebrating pooches and everything they have to offer, including:

  • Pet related market stalls & services;

  • Specialty Talks;

  • Agility Demonstrations;

  • Adopt-A-Pet - Wollondilly Animal Shelter;

  • Dog Competition (Best Dressed, Best Trick & Best Look-a-like);

  • Pet Photo Booth;

  • Kid's face painting & activities;

  • A community BBQ; and

  • A coffee van

The Bargo Sportsground is located at Radnor Rd, Bargo.

The event is entirely free.

Vietnam Veterans Day, Goulburn

To be held at Belmore Park in Goulburn's CBD, a special Vietnam Veteran's Day service will commence from 10am.

Vietnam Veterans Day is a day where we remember and reflect on the service and sacrifice of the more than 60,000 Australians who served during the Vietnam War. The Goulburn RSL Sub Branch will conduct a Vietnam Veterans Day service at the Honour Roll in Belmore Park.

This service, which is open to the public, will honour the 242 Goulburn district residents who enlisted or conscripted into National Service, and the seven men who died during the Vietnam War. For more information about the service, please contact the RSL Sub Branch.

The Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum will also be open and will have a number of Vietnam War-related objects on display. Lest we forget.

Windellama Country Markets

Held on the third Sunday of every month, the Windellama Country Markets are on again at the Windellama Hall, 39kms south-east of Goulburn from 9am to 3pm.

There are plenty of stalls selling homemade jams and preserves, pre-loved toys and tools, locally produced honey, bric-a-brac, various plants, gourmet foods, wooden toys, skincare products and everything for sewing enthusiasts. There’s also home-cooked hot food, freshly ground coffee and refreshments available, together with fabulous cupcakes and sweet slices, as well as plenty of parking available and disabled access.

Little Paper Wonders @ Daphne & May, Gundaroo

Gundaroo craft workshop Daphne and May are holding three Friday afternoon workshops over the next three weeks, with this week's theme being 'Mini Folios'.

Each session runs from 3:15pm to 5pm.

Ticket costs are $25, which covers afternoon tea, drinks, all craft materials and equipment, and your finished little paper wonders to take home.

All ages are welcome, and for those under 7 years of age, a helper will be required to attend also.

Chocolate Bar Workshop at Murrumbateman Chocolate Co

Make your own selection of chocolate bars in this fun and delicious hands-on chocolate experience!

The experience is designed to provide a fun introduction to chocolate, where you will taste various sustainably produced chocolate varieties and then get creative by moulding and decorating your own chocolate bars, which you will take home with you.

Larissa Kovalchuk and Anna Dove, Yass Music Club

This musical journey is presented by two extraordinary Ukrainian musicians, Larissa Kovalchuk, a virtuoso bandura (a Ukrainian stringed instrument which is a cross between a lute and a zither) player and soprano, and Anna Dove, a brilliant pianist.

They will perform Ukrainian classical and traditional pieces by Skoryk, Havrylets, and Myaskov, along with timeless works by Rossini, Gershwin, and Bach/Gounod.

The concert commences from 2pm through until 4:30pm and will be held at the Yass Memorial Hall, 78 Comur St, Yass.

General admission tickets are $60, with concessions/pensioners $50, and can be purchased via the Humanitix link at https://events.humanitix.com/larissa-kovalchuk-and-anna-dove/tickets.
