Pinehaven Chestnut Farm tours

Pinehaven Chestnut Farm at Wingello is a family-run farm that is fun for all ages.

Southern Highlands Autumn Gardens Weekend and Plant Fair

The 15th annual Southern Highlands Autumn Gardens Weekend and Plant Fair at Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens in Bowral this Saturday is set to be an ‘unmissable event’, according to organisers.

The weekend also includes tours of 6 spectacular private Southern Highlands estate gardens that are rarely open to the public.

The Plant Fair will be held from 9am – 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

There will be over 40 stalls, featuring: - Plant stalls - amazing plant nursery stalls featuring collector plants for sale from a diverse array of nurseries. The stallholders will sell everything from heritage roses, native plants, perennials and grasses to cliveas, orchids, camellias and much more!

- Decor/Sculptures/Garden Allied: Over nine stalls will be offering garden décor, garden art, structures, sculptures and supplies. There will also be garden tools from Digadoo; gorgeous garden structures and practical yet beautiful supplies from The Garden Cupboard, Timeless Stakes and more.

- Highlands Harvest stalls - including local providore goods, gourmet food, and local gin and wines.

- A diverse program of plant talks: The talks will contain all manner of topics, including special celebrity guest Clarence Slockee from ABC TV's Gardening Australia.

The Sydney Male Choir – Love is in the Air at Bowral Memorial Hall

The Sydney Male Choir will be singing in partnership with the local Highlands Theatre Group (HTG) choir to perform a variety of genres including classical, jazz, stage, screen, opera and more.

The SMC have been running for 113 years, and the theme of this concert is John-Paul Young’s hit song ‘Love is in the Air’, of which they will perform at the concert.

The show will start from 2pm through until 4:30pm.

The Bowral Memorial Hall is located at 16-24 Bendooley St, Bowral.

Southern Highlands Woolfest, Mittagong RSL

Hosted by the Black and Coloured Sheep Breeders Association NSW, their annual Woolfest event will be held in the Carrington Room at Mittagong RSL this Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

There will be 20 fibre-art stallholders on hand for all spinning, knitting, weaving, felting and dyeing supplies.

Rock the Dilly, Picton Botanic Gardens

The annual ‘Rock the Dilly’ event is on again this Saturday afternoon and evening at the Picton Botanic Gardens from 4pm – 8pm.

A free family community event, Rock the Dilly features live music performances from local youth bands and singer-songwriters as well as other youth-oriented events including a free sausage sizzle and ice cream for everyone, youth information stalls with interactive activities, and raffles held throughout the evening with great prizes on offer.

The whole event is organised and set up by Tahmoor and Moss Vale music therapy business River Road Creative Academy.

The Picton Botanic Gardens are located at 13 Regreme Rd, Picton.

Warragamba Cars & Coffee

The Warragamba Cars and Coffee event is on again on Fourteenth St in Warragamba, with locals and visitors alike coming to see what amazing motor vehicles and motorcycles are on display, as well as visiting the various coffee shops up and down the main street of Warragamba.

The event runs from 7:30am – 10am.

NSW Youth Week Expo: Back to the Arcade

As part of Goulburn’s contribution to Youth Week, the entertainment arcade, Back to the Arcade are hosting a NSW Youth Week Expo on their premises today from 3pm – 7pm.

Young people aged 12-24 can take part in activities such as Lazer Tag, bowling and even Roller Skating. There are also more activities and surprises yet to be announced!

The expo will also feature local youth services and organisations with their stalls and giving out flyers and free merchandise.

Goulburn Rotary Book Fair

The annual Goulburn Rotary Book Fair is on again this whole weekend through until Sunday, with two opportunities now throughout the year to be a part of the fair.

The fair has a huge variety of pre-loved books of all genres, from fiction, biography, sport, romance, children’s books, gardening, cooking, you name it – they will probably have it.

All books are at bargain prices, too, with funds going towards Rotary charities and projects.

And any books that aren’t sold at this book fair get sent to far western NSW and QLD outback communities where they get donated to local schools and libraries. This is all done through the assistance of the Rotary Clubs of Goulburn and a partnership with Rotary in Cowra.

The fair runs from 9am – 8pm every day except Sunday, when it goes from 9am – 12 noon, and is held at the Goulburn Recreation Area (Veolia Arena) at 47 Braidwood Rd, Goulburn.

Geek Expo: Goulburn

Goulburn’s version of Comic Con, ‘Geek Expo’ is on again at the Veolia Arena this Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

The event brings together artists, creators, traders, and fans for an inclusive and welcoming experience — whether you’re a lifelong geek or just curious to explore.

Independent artists and creators, pop culture traders and exhibitors, comics, collectibles and fandom merch, and even other activities for all ages and varieties will be on offer.

Goulburn Historic Waterworks 'Steaming Day'

A monthly event, the Goulburn Historic Waterworks is hosting a Steaming Day this Sunday from 10 am to 3pm.

The Goulburn Historic Waterworks has been in action since the 1880s, when it was one of the first regional centres to supply piped drinking water to its residents, with the water being sourced from the adjacent Wollondilly River.

This rare facility is the only complete, steam-powered municipal water supply left in its original location in the Southern Hemisphere. The buildings and engines are of national significance and are now protected by a permanent conservation order.

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers are presenting the Engineering Heritage Award to the amazing staff and volunteers for all the ongoing work and care that goes into the operation of the magnificent Appleby Bros Beam Engine on show at the Goulburn Historic Waterworks.

Take a tour of the Pumphouse Museum and historic Waterworks, and see the 130-year-old Appleby Beam Engine and Hick Hargreaves Corliss Valve Engine under steam.

You can also bring your own picnic by the river and the children can play in the playground on site, too.

Entry is by donation.

Project Hail Mary at Liberty Theatre

As Yass’ only cinema, The Liberty Theatre is showing a screening of ‘Project Hail Mary’ tonight from 7pm – 9pm.

Project Hail Mary is about science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), who wakes up on a spaceship, with no recollection of who he is or how he got there.

As his memory slowly returns, he soon discovers that he must solve the riddle behind a mysterious substance that’s causing the sun to die out.

As details of the mission unravel, he calls on his scientific training and sheer ingenuity, but he may not have to do it alone.

Caught Red Handed – Stomp Festival

Stomp Festival is an initiative of various wineries throughout the Yass Valley region, promoting the benefits of winemaking to the region’s tourism and hospitality industry.

‘Stomp Festival’ will be held over two days, on both Saturday and Sunday at several local venues including: Thyme to Taste Beer & Wine Emporium, Murrumbateman; Pankhurst Wines at Wallaroo; Gundog Estate's Cork Street Cellar at Gundaroo & Barton Estate Winery at Jeir.

‘Caught Red Handed’ is another event as part of the festival and will be held at McKellar Ridge Wines at Murrumbateman.

The Caught Red Handed event runs from 1pm – 2:30pm, and costs $20 per person.

For this, you get to experience the magic of winemaking up close.

Join the staff at McKellar Ridge for a behind-the-scenes winery experience where you’ll plunge fermenting red wines, taste fermenting juice, and learn how to assess wines like a winemaker.

Finish with a seated wine tasting with cheese.

This is a fun, interactive experience for wine lovers who want to see, feel (and smell!) what vintage is all about.

Yass Swap Meet

Held annually at the Yass Showgrounds, the Yass Swap Meet is on again this Sunday from 7am to 2pm.

Traditionally hosted by the Yass Valley Cruisers Car Club, the swap meet showcases classic car parts, tools and auto memorabilia.

Vendors can camp at the showground on a 7x5m site for $25, and entry for the public is only $5, with kids under 16 getting in for free.
