SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS

FRIDAY OCTOBER 17

Live Music with Jamie Agius at the Robertson Public House

Goulburn country musician Jamie Agius will be performing at the Robertson Public House and Kitchen this Friday night from 7 – 10pm. He is performing at several venues around the Southern Tablelands and Highlands from October right up until New Year’s Eve.

The event is free, but bookings are still recommended.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 18

Love Land Planting Day at ‘Craigenbrae’, 1020 Tugalong Road, Canyonleigh

Get along to ‘Craigenbrae’ in Canyonleigh this Saturday morning from 10am – 1pm for the Love Land planting day.

The event invites people to gather and plant native seedlings with a personal handwritten message on biodegradable paper placed underneath.

Participants are also invited to bring along a picnic lunch.

Craigenbrae is located at 1020 Tugalong Rd, Canyonleigh.

Angus Murray Trio - 'On the Stone' at Surveyor General Inn, Berrima

At the Surveyor General Inn, the Angus Murray Trio will be performing from 6pm on Saturday as part of the pub's 'On the Stones' gigs every weekend.

The Surveyor General Inn is located at 26 Old Hume Highway, Berrima.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 19

Bowral Classic Cycling Event

The annual Bowral Classic cycling event will be held again this Sunday, with an event village set up at Loseby Park, located behind Bowral Hospital.

Riders will start on Bong Bong St from 6:30am, and will be taking part in either a 150km Maxi Classic, heading north-west towards Berrima and on a circuit around the Highlands down to Robertson, across to Fitzroy Falls, then Bundanoon, through Moss Vale and finishing back in Bowral, a 120km Challenge Classic heading out to Berrima then down to Robertson and Fitzroy Falls via Glenquarry and return, or an 85km Roulers Classic event.

Registrations for the event close tomorrow (Friday 17 October), so get in quick.

Spectators can enjoy the event all along the various routes throughout the day.

Road closures will also be in place throughout the courses across the Highlands, too.

WOLLONDILLY

Picton Theatre Group presents ‘Midnight Murder at Hamlington Hall’

The Picton Theatre Group will be officially opening their new show, ‘Midnight Murder at Hamlington Hall’ this Friday night at the Wollondilly Shire Hall from 7pm – 10pm.

They will also host dinner and show packages on Saturday 18 October and the following weekends, with the final show on Saturday 1 November.

The Wollondilly Shire Hall is located at 52 Menangle St, Picton.

OINKTOBERFEST at The Oaks Hotel

Join in the festivities as part of ‘Oinktoberfest’, a free event hosted by The Oaks Hotel from 12 noon to 5pm.

Activities include pig races every hour as well as a jumping castle for the kids, and for the adults, a barbecue, raffles, markets stalls and ‘pop-up bar’.

The Oaks Hotel is located at 36 John St, The Oaks.

Dam Fest 2025, Warragamba Dam

Hosted by the Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre (WSNC), the annual Dam Fest is happening once again this Sunday in Warragamba from 10am to 4pm.

Entry is free and there is loads of activities and events to keep the family occupied all day, including live entertainment from Chalkie White and Liam Maihi, the famous Car, Truck and Bike Show, Swap Meet, carnival rides, reptile show and petting zoo, food trucks and market stalls and much more.

Dam Fest will be held at the Warragamba Recreation Reserve, Warradale Rd, Warragamba.

Hockey NSW Indoor State Championship – Open Women, Veolia Arena

Hockey NSW is hosting the Women’s Indoor State Championships this weekend at the Veolia Arena, Goulburn Recreation Area, with players travelling to Goulburn from all parts of the state including Nepean, Parkes, Illawarra, South Coast, Sydney, Dubbo, Grafton, Bathurst, Port Macquarie, and Newcastle as well as local Goulburn teams.

Steampunk Victoriana Fair, Marsden Weir

Travel through time at the annual Steampunk Victoriana Fair at Marsden Weir, on the banks of the Wollondilly River.

The retro-futuristic fair features vintage games, penny farthings, horse and carriage rides, live music, circus tent and performances, roving entertainment, tea and parasol duels, sword fighting, face painting, hobby horse races and food and Steampunk themed market stalls.

The Victorian Georgian-style Pumphouse Museum will also be open and steaming all day, with experienced tour guides on hand to talk about the magnificent stationary steam engines, the 1883 Appleby Beam Engine and the 1866 Hick Hargreaves Horizontal Engine.

Both are operated by a wood-fired 1960 Spencer Hopwood Cross tube vertical boiler.

Tarago Car, Bike & Truck Show

The small town of Tarago is hosting their annual Car, Bike and Truck Show this Sunday from 8am – 2pm at the Recreation Area opposite Tarago Public School.

Trophies can be won for each category of car, bike or truck including Best In Show, People’s Choice, Best Panel & Paint, Best Survivor, Best Truck, Best Ute, Best 4WD, Best Restored, Best Modified and Best Bike.

There will also be a variety of food and beverage stalls available and a raffle prize as well as the trophies.

The show’s address is located at 2124 Braidwood Rd, Tarago.
