1. Birds Nest Pop-Up Event, Bowral Memorial Hall
Although based in the Snowy Mountains town of Cooma, the Birds Nest Pop-Up store is coming to the Bowral Memorial Hall this weekend. They’ll be hosting fashion parades, ‘sip and shops’ and styling sessions throughout the whole weekend. Entry is free with no tickets required.
The Pop-Up will be running on Friday from 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 2pm and
Sunday 9am to 1pm.

2. Highlands Theatre Group hosts EMMA by Jane Austen
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, the Highlands Theatre Group is acting out a modern interpretation of Ms. Austen’s classic, ‘Emma’.
Six shows will be running in the Sacre Coeur Performing Arts Centre at Chevalier College through until next Sunday October 19, with evening shows and afternoon matinees.
There will also be a show at the Goulburn Performing Arts Centre on Sunday 26 October at 3pm.

3. AustrAsia Cultural Centre Opening Event, Medway
Get along to the AustrAsia Cultural Centre at Medway on Saturday and Sunday, with vibrant performances, hands-on workshops, exhibitions, family-friendly activities and food from a variety of cultures. Entry is free.
The AustrAsia Cultural Centre is located at 230 Medway Rd, Medway (past the Hume Highway exit heading northbound to Sydney).
The event runs from 10am to 4pm both days.

WOLLONDILLY
ALL WEEKEND
1. Vintage Train Rides at NSW Rail Museum, Thirlmere
Kids and adults alike can enjoy a ride behind steam engine 3001 this weekend at the NSW Rail Museum at Thirlmere.
For a great finish to the school holidays, the kids can also enjoy giant yard games, mini-train rides on select days, Brio tables, colouring in, and explore Australia's largest collection of heritage rollingstock.

2. Arts Alive Festival, Picton
The Arts Alive Festival is coming to Picton this Saturday from 12 noon through until 9pm.
The event features a vibrant street party, live performances, workshops and stunning light displays, as well as roving artists, market stalls and food trucks, an art exhibition, an Aboriginal weaving workshop, Aboriginal dance and music, Japanese drumming and craft activities, all in the centre of Picton.

3. Stockade Country Markets, Picton Shire Hall
This Sunday between 9am and 1pm, get along to the Stockade Country Markets at the Wollondilly Shire Hall in Menangle St, Picton.
Support local small businesses and local creators. The markets are held every first Sunday on a bi-monthly basis.
The Wollondilly Shire Hall is located at 52 Menangle St, Picton.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 10
1. Walk for Prems- The Mighty Trek Challenge, Belmore Park, Goulburn
The Walk for Prems event is taking place in Belmore Park this Friday from 9am - 3pm. The Goulburn Base Hospital team’s aim is to walk 30kms around Belmore Park while pushing a baby incubator and break a world record whilst also raising funds and awareness for tiny premature babies that are born each and every day across Australia. 50 percent of what is raised by the team goes to supporting the hospital to buy some much – needed equipment and materials for their Special Care Nursery.

2. Guided Tour of St Peter & Paul’s Catholic Cathedral
Join the guided tour of St Peter and Paul’s Catholic Cathedral in Verner St, with fascinating historical facts revealed and anecdotes from the region’s 150 year history.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 12
3. Goulburn Half Marathon, Riverside Park
The Goulburn Half Marathon is set to be held this Sunday October 12 at Riverside Park on the outskirts of Goulburn.
Participants in the race have the choice of running the full 21.1km half marathon event, or smaller distances including a 10km, 5km or even a 2km Family Dash.
The event commences from 7:30am, with the event village open for bib pick-up, bag drop and sponsor tents, and the Half Marathon race commencing from 9am. The prize giving ceremony is estimated to commence around 11:30am.
Spectators are also invited to come and cheer along the participants all along the track.
All finishers will be rewarded with a unique Goulburn-themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways, and an online finishers certificate.
The event is also proudly sponsored by Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
