Weather warning issued for region on Saturday
A severe weather warning for damaging winds has been issued for large parts of the region tomorrow (Saturday). The warning was issued by the Bureau of Meteorology earlier today (Friday).

Residents in parts of the Illawarra and parts of the South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains are being advised to monitor conditions and follow safety advice.
The Bureau of Meteorology says a strong west to north-westerly flow will develop early Saturday morning ahead of a cold front that will sweep over southern parts of the state during the day.
Winds will ease throughout the warning area late Saturday afternoon or early evening.
The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is advising people to move their cars undercover or away from trees and powerlines if it is safe to do so and to tie down any loose items in their yards.
Fallen powerlines should be reported to Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evo Energy (131 093).
Those people needing assistance can contact the NSW SES on 132 500 but in life-threatening situations should call Triple Zero (000).
Residents are advised to download the Hazards Near Me ap or visit the NSW SES website to stay up to date with warnings as the weather moves through.
Other warnings have come from the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the NSW Rural Fire Service.
The NSW NPWS recommends that any plans for back country be postponed until conditions improve.
NSW RFS Southern Highlands said the Fire Danger Rating for Saturday would be elevated to ‘High’ for the Wingecarribee and Wollondilly local government areas due to unseasonably warm and windy conditions.
Landholders are being urged to postpone all pile burning until conditions ease and to regularly check on any pile burns that have been conducted in recent weeks.
They should ensure burnt piles are completely extinguished and should check for heat or smouldering material beneath the surface.
They should also continue to monitor old burn sites while strong winds persist.
Fines apply to people who fail to notify the RFS before lighting a fire or who allow a fire to escape from their property.
Those people who see an unattended or escaped fire are urged to immediately contact Triple Zero (000).
