Transport prepares for further highway repair works at Marulan
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is advising it will upgrade a section of the Hume Highway and a section of George Street at Marulan in preparation for more repair works later this year.

A spokesperson said TfNSW would be building an additional vehicle cross-over on the Hume Highway near Medway Road (between the BP service centres).
The work will include vegetation removal, drainage installation, earthworks and road resurfacing.
“The cross-over will be used to move traffic from one side of the road to the other during the next round of repair work and can be used for incidents and emergencies,” the spokesperson said.
“A cross-over at this location will allow us to keep access to Marulan town open when repairing the Hume Highway.”
As part of this work TfNSW will also be upgrading the road surface, line marking and drainage on sections of George Street from the northbound BP Service Centre to the Medway Road roundabout.
The works are needed to support safer traffic movements as more vehicles will be using George Street while repair works are being carried out on the Hume Highway.
Work on the new cross-over will commence this Sunday, August 16 and will continue Sunday to Thursday nights for approximately three weeks between 7pm and 5am.
During this time there will be single lane closures in both directions and a reduced speed limit of 60km/h. A reduced speed limit of 80km/h will be in place outside of work hours.
There will be no lane closures in place between Friday mornings and Sunday evenings.
Road resurfacing on George Street will take place at night between 7pm and 5am from Tuesday, September 1 to Thursday, September 3 and will then continue between 6am and 5pm from Monday, September 7 for a further two weeks, weather permitting.
Single lane closures will be in place during this time and there will be a reduced speed limit of 40km/h.
Access into the northbound BP Service Centre, the heavy vehicle parking area and Marulan town centre will remain open.
TfNSW has advised that repair work on another two northbound sections of the Hume Highway from mid October.
