Theatre group remembers one of their own
Local theatre group Highlands Theatre Group (HTG) is mourning the loss of one of their own, HTG member, dear friend, and lighting designer Stuart Udy, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

His family sent this small tribute to remember him by.
“It is with deep sadness that we have to update everyone on the passing of our Dad, Stuart Andrews Udy on Tuesday 12th May,” the tribute read.
“After a seven-year fight with cancer, Dad's body could no longer hold on. Dad passed peacefully with Clair, Greg, and Millie by his side.
“Dad was larger than life. Not only was he a Dad to us, but he was also a son, brother, uncle, mentor, colleague, boss, and a friend to many.
“Forever generous of heart, Dad was always giving to those in need. Thank you to everyone who has visited with Dad over his stays in hospital over the last nine months. Your support will always be appreciated.”
Stuart is survived by his mum Anne, son Chris, daughter Clair, son-in-law Greg, grand-daughter Millie, and his siblings Karuna, Frances, Yelena, and James.
“A memorial will be held for Dad in Bowral in July when Chris returns from overseas,” the message continued.
“We will have more details in due course. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cancer Council in Dad's name and memory to this link - https://give.cancercouncil.com.au/.”
Highlands Theatre Group chair, Steve Cheers also wrote a small message of condolence on the theatre group’s Facebook page.
“We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend, member and lighting designer Stuart Udy today (Tuesday 12 May) after a prolonged period of illness,” the message reads.
“Stuart was a most generous, passionate supporter of HTG and theatre generally, and provided expertise and technical services to countless organisations in the Highlands over 30 years.
“Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends for their loss. Rest in peace Stu. You will be missed.”
