A Tahmoor man accused of murdering a 15yo boy will face court this month after the horrific killing in Wilton.
A year after the killing of a 15 year-old boy in Wilton, the accused, Jacob Greig, is set to return to Campbelltown Local Court. He has not plead guilty to the charge of murder.
The self-described “professional pyromaniac by trade with an unhealthy obsession for knives” is alleged to have killed Picton High School student, Isaac (who cannot be completely named for legal reasons), during the evening of 8 November 2024, following an altercation.
Local NSW Police detectives, assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, under Strike Force Polda, claim that at a backroad near the Maldon Weir in Wilton, Isaac tried to open the passenger door of a vehicle, with video and audio capturing the incident, showing the teenager saying, "I'm trying to get home."
Greig was in a red Hyundai i30 with 21 year-old duck breeder, Johanna Martin. The pair drove out towards Maldon Weir after she picked up Greig at approximately 10pm, after he finished a shift working as a chef at the Bargo Sports Club.
Isaac pulled on the front and rear passenger door handles, causing the rear handle to come off the car and fall into the roadway. The accused responded, “I'll f***ing get you good and I'm going to chop your hand off.”
It is alleged that Greig then slashed at the teenager with a knife, causing Isaac to sustain a significant laceration to his inner right forearm and to bleed profusely.
Shocking new details from nearby CCTV footage, not previously released, reveal that immediately after the alleged slashing, the pair commenced driving away and Isaac jumped onto the moving car, but fell off into the roadside foliage.
The victim was allegedly left to die with a "trail of blood extending about 30 metres".
Isaac’s body was discovered by his friends at approximately 7:30am the next day (9 November 2024) in bushland just off Wilton Park Road. His friends told the police that they thought Isaac had left earlier that night to go home.
Following a public appeal for information, later that day at approximately 4pm, Greig and Ms Martin, accompanied by Ms Martin’s parents, surrendered themselves at Narellan Police Station. Greig was subsequently arrested and charged with murder.
Following his arrest, police impounded the Hyundai i30 car, registered to Ms Martin, for forensic examination.
Ms Martin has not been charged with any offence and the Southern Wire makes no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Ms Martin.
The 32 year-old Tahmoor accused has since been remanded in custody, following a failed bid for bail on 10 November 2024, where his parents offered $100,000 in surety. At the time, his solicitor, Javid Faiz argued that Greig was the sole provider for his then four year-old child and pregnant wife, who was due to give birth in December.
Since his arrest, the Southern Wire can confirm that Greig has appeared several times this year in Campbelltown Local Court from jail, via a video livestream, including a committal hearing (charge certification) on 20 August, where prosecutors confirmed the charges on which they will proceed to trial before a judge and jury in the NSW Supreme Court.
In the wake of Isaac’s death, family friend, Donna Young organised a GoFundMe campaign to support the family’s funeral costs and expenses. A total of $29,630 was raised. The GoFundMe page is no longer accepting donations.
Grieg is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court again on 26 November for a further mention in the committal process.
The Southern Wire will keep readers informed.
