The St George Illawarra Dragons have parted ways with head coach Shane Flanagan and general manager of football Ben Haran, with the club confirming both have left by mutual agreement.

The departures follow internal discussions, with the club signalling a need for a new direction in its football program.

Chief executive Tim Watsford said the decision was made with the club’s future in mind.

“These are not decisions anyone makes lightly… we thank Shane and Ben for their efforts and professionalism during their time at the club,” he said.

Flanagan said the decision came after discussions with the club.

“I care deeply about this club and the playing group… we agreed this was the right time for a change,” he said.
