Show guaranteed to delight in Picton this weekend
The 84th annual Picton Show is on again this weekend at the Picton Showground on Menangle St.

The 84th annual Picton Show is on again this weekend at the Picton Showground on Menangle St.
There will be something for everyone, including a ‘scarecrow wedding’ between resident Picton Show scarecrow ‘Steve’ and his fiancee, ‘Poppy’.
Also, there will be traditional events such as the ute show on Sunday and the rodeo (with three different prizes on offer) on Saturday evening and fireworks on Saturday night from 9pm.
Local business The Celebration Society will also be donating the use of their ‘beautiful big red truck’ for a music and community stage for performers throughout the show.
“This year for the first time we are hosting the Bushman’s Camp campdraft event,” Katie Stinson from the Picton Show Society told The Southern Wire.
“There’s been good word of mouth spread around the community about this year’s show and some are even saying it might be up there with Camden, with people coming from all around the Wollondilly!”
Ms. Stinson also said that pavilion entries were also filling fast.
There will also be a heap of market stalls and other events including lawn mower racing, axe throwing, heritage display, sheep shearing, cow milking, a kid’s petting zoo, reptiles and dinosaurs, the traditional horse show, the famous CWA tea rooms, carnival rides, etc. and even a new event called the ‘booze raffle’, where participants can win cases of drinks in various sizes, from a wheelbarrow-full down to a basket size.
So, get down to the Picton Showground at 151-155 Menangle St, Picton.
Gates will be open from 6am on both Saturday and Sunday morning.
Tickets for Saturday start from $20 for adults, $15 children, $50 for a family, and $15 for pensioners and on Sunday are $15 for adults, $10 for children, $40 for a family and $12 for pensioners.
