More delay woes for Hume Highway motorists
Transport for NSW has advised motorists of delays of up to 10 minutes on the Hume Highway near Mittagong from today.

Transport for NSW has advised motorists of delays of up to 10 minutes on the Hume Highway near Mittagong from today.
It has issued a traffic alert but provides few details about the project besides describing it as ‘maintenance work’.
The Southern Wire has contacted Transport for NSW for more information.
According to the traffic alert, the highway will be closed near Nattai River Bridge from tomorrow (Monday) through until Friday, February 13.
The northbound lanes of the highway will be closed while the work is carried out.
Northbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound lanes under contraflow traffic arrangements.
Traffic control and reduced speed limits of 80 km/h will be in place.
Vehicles wider than 4.5 metres will be asked to park at the Pheasants Nest rest area north of the bridge and the Sutton Forest rest area south of the bridge to arrange traffic control to escort them through the work area.
Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic control and should allow up to 10 minutes of additional travel time.
The traffic alert comes just days after Transport for NSW advised it will be re-starting slab replacement works on the highway near Marulan with delays expected between February 16 and March 5.
As reported in The Southern Wire, motorists say Traffic for NSW delay estimates have been grossly underestimated in the past.
Some motorists have reported being caught in contraflow arrangements near Marulan for hours and missing out on medical appointments, specialist care, surgeries and treatments.
