Man charged after more than 250 cannabis plants and nearly 25kg of dried cannabis worth more than $325,000 seized near Goulburn

A man has been charged after more than 250 cannabis plants and nearly 25kg of dried cannabis was seized from a property near Bungonia, approximately 30 kms southeast of Goulburn yesterday morning.

A man has been charged after more than 250 cannabis plants and nearly 25kg of dried cannabis was seized from a property near Bungonia, approximately 30kms south-east of Goulburn yesterday morning.

About 10.22am yesterday (Tuesday 16 September) officers attached to The Hume Rural Crime Prevention Team executed a search warrant at a property on Oallen Ford Road, Bungonia, about 27km south-east of Goulburn.

Police seized 253 cannabis plants – with an estimated street value of $151,800 and 24.7kg of dried cannabis – with an estimated street value of $175,000.

A 41-year-old man was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station. He was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 today, (Wednesday 17 September).

Investigations are ongoing.
