Southern Highlands disability service provider Interchange Australia celebrated their 39th birthday on Wednesday with a small celebration including a BBQ and some Christmas trifle.
Southern Highlands disability service provider Interchange Australia celebrated their 39th birthday on Wednesday with a small celebration including a BBQ and some Christmas trifle.
The company first started in 1986 and has now grown to include their office in Bowral and day options programs, respite programs, ASDESI (Autism Spectrum Disorder Education, Support and Information) and other assisted programs in Narellan, Goulburn and even as far south as Queanbeyan.
Interchange CEO Kristel Lee said that after 39 years the company was still going strong.
“We still have some of our original staff who have been with us for many years, and they’ve all adapted to the changes in the disability sector over the years,” she said.
“We’re still there working hard in an industry where many other organisations have failed. We treat our participants like people and constantly ask them how we can improve our programs for their benefit and not for ours. You could say we truly are ‘a family’.”
Ms. Lee says they are working on something big for their major 40th birthday milestone next year.
