The community of Hill Top turned out in force last Saturday night for the third annual GLOW Festival, held in the grounds of Hill Top Public School.

The festival raises money for programs within the public school and also supports the Hill Top Community Association (HTCA) in their fundraising efforts for the village.

There were rides for the kids, food trucks, market stalls and musical and dance performances from youth from the River Road Creative Academy at Tahmoor and many others.

There was even a raffle with great prizes on offer including a Nintendo Switch and a Playstation 5, amongst others, presented on stage by Hill Top Public School principal Mark Gardiner.

“This was a great night for our community and for the school,” Mr Gardiner told The Southern Wire.

“We do GLOW because we care about our village community and also broadening the horizons for our students here at the school.”

Organiser of the GLOW Festival, Cait Webster from the HTCA said she was excited to see so many people come and enjoy themselves.

“It’s been way bigger than we expected this year and we had a lot more people turn up,” she said.

“It’s a great thing not only for us at the HTCA but also for all the stallholders and food vans who came tonight.”

This was the third festival for the Community Association, and Ms Webster said they had now got into a ‘rhythm’.

“We’ve been really lucky this year to have a few sponsors on board with us to help us cover the costs of the rides, etc. The school has also been really great in letting us traipse around their grounds and ‘invade’ them.”

Ms. Webster indicated that the 2026 Festival will be held at around the same time next year.

“It’s likely to be around the same time as this year, so the first weekend of the September/October school holidays,” she said.
