Get ready to rock the night away this Saturday November 8 with local disability service provider Interchange Australia holding their annual ‘RockCan’ event at Mittagong RSL Club from 3pm - 7pm.

Now into its 16th year, the event has brought together bands from the Southern Highlands, South Western Sydney and Wollongong to perform across all genres of music from rock and pop through to musicals.

Music Coordinator Tim Dickson described to The Southern Wire the theme for this year.

“This year we have a special theme – “RockCan in Wonderland”, he said.

“We are embracing the wild & wacky world of Alice in Wonderland by decorating the Mittagong RSL auditorium with table and event room décor as well as themed T-shirts!

“The bands on the bill this year will be some of our biggest artists yet, featuring an exciting mix of soloists and bands.

“This year’s lineup includes Raging Bull, Infinite Potential, Higher Than High, The Hidden Wonders, River Road Creative Academy, and John Goodfellow and The Bare Bones Trio.”

He also described the essence of what RockCan is all about.

“The essence of RockCan is the participation, interaction, and the experience that comes from being part of such a large music event,” he said.

“RockCan is all about celebrating music in all its forms, from Rock to Pop, Electronic to Country, Reggae to musicals - RockCan covers a huge range of genres.

“It also covers different levels of performance, whether it’s a young band just starting out or seasoned professionals. RockCan aims to be as inclusive as possible.

“RockCan is a much-anticipated event, and attendance continues to grow each year!”
