Crash victim was much-loved GP
The 50-year-old motorcyclist tragically killed in a crash on the Old Hume Highway on Saturday afternoon was a much-loved GP from Picton and a father of six.

The 50-year-old motorcyclist tragically killed in a crash on Camden Valley Road on Saturday afternoon was a much-loved GP from Picton and a father of six.
The Picton Family Medical Centre has taken to social media to express its “deep heartbreak” over the loss of Dr Jonathon Grimshaw.
“Dr Grimshaw was not only an exceptional doctor, but a deeply compassionate human being – someone who dedicated his life to serving others,” the centre said in a Facebook post last night.
“He was loved by so many … his colleagues, his friends and especially his patients, who trusted and felt genuinely understood in his care.”
Dr Grimshaw was killed after his motorbike collided with a Ford Ranger at the intersection of the Old Hume Highway and Wire Lane at approximately 2.10pm on Saturday.
He died at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle – a 76-year-old man – was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police investigations into the accident are continuing.
Medical centre staff said their thoughts were with Dr Grimshaw’s wife Katey and their six children at a time of “unimaginable loss”.
The centre said its focus would be on “surrounding Katey and the children with love, support and practical care in the difficult days ahead”.
“We have also been deeply moved by the overwhelming outpouring of messages, tributes and kindness from the community.
“It speaks volumes about the impact Johnathon had on so many lives.
“To his patients – please know that he cared for you immensely.
“He was proud to serve this community and his loss will be felt for a long time,” the centre said.
Patients and members of the Wollondilly community have taken to social media to praise Dr Grimshaw on his care and compassion and as a “brilliant, caring and clever man who had the best dad jokes ever”.
“I hope Jonathan's family know what a difference he made to his patients,” April Abbott said.
“He was held in such high regard by health professionals and the community, and I know I can't imagine finding a more compassionate, validating, thorough doctor.”
The centre has asked for understanding as staff process such a profound loss.
