Council to upgrade public toilets in Moss Vale, Mittagong
When you need to go – you need to go.

When you need to go – you need to go.
Unfortunately not in the Moss Vale CBD or at Lake Alexandra in Mittagong between now and the end of the month unless you’re happy to use a portable loo.
Wingecarribee Shire Council has advised that the public amenities at Leighton Gardens in Moss Vale and Lake Alexandra will be closed between Friday, May 15 and Friday, May 29.
Portable toilets will be available at both locations for the duration of the work and signage will be installed directing people to other nearby public amenities.
A council spokesperson said the flooring at both locations would be replaced with a new safer, more durable and easier to maintain surface “ensuring the facilities remain welcoming and fit-for-purpose well into the future”.
“Council appreciates the community’s patience and understanding while these important maintenance works are completed,” the spokesperson said.
“The upgrades will help improve the safety, cleanliness and longevity of these facilities for the community.”
The spokesperson said the upgrades “form part of council’s broader commitment to investing in long-lasting infrastructure that supports the community now and into the future.”
Portable toilets will provide immediate relief for some – but they are not without their problems.
Industry experts say common problems include vandalism and graffiti, odour, overuse and toilet paper shortages.
