Young athletes receive funding boost
Three talented young athletes from the Goulburn Mulwaree region have received financial support to help them compete at representative level
Three talented young athletes from the Goulburn Mulwaree region have received financial support to help them compete at representative level after sharing in $1,100 through the Ray Harvey Sports Foundation.
The funding was awarded as part of Round 2 of the Foundation's 2025/26 program, with the successful applicants recognised during a cheque presentation at Goulburn Mulwaree Council Chambers.
The recipients are David Samuel, who competes in rugby union, Jordan Sturgiss in lawn bowls and Tyler Turriff in BMX racing.
The grants will help cover the costs of representative training camps, competitions and other events, easing the financial burden that often comes with competing at higher levels of sport.
The Ray Harvey Sports Foundation supports promising young athletes from across the Goulburn Mulwaree region, helping them continue to develop their talents and represent their community.
Applications for Round 1 of the 2026/27 funding program will open later this year.
