Yass Valley residents will soon get the chance to grill Council directly on its proposed budget, rates, infrastructure spending and future projects as a series of community consultation meetings roll out.

Yass Valley Council has announced five public consultation sessions as part of its draft 2026/27 Integrated Planning and Reporting process, with meetings scheduled across Wee Jasper, Binalong, Murrumbateman, Sutton and Yass.

The draft documents released by council outline proposed spending, projects and priorities for the coming financial year, including roads, water, waste services, sporting facilities, parks, development and community services.

Council says it is also continuing to work towards becoming “a more financially sustainable Council”, with the consultation process giving residents the chance to ask questions directly to the executive team and have input into future spending decisions.

The draft documents are currently included within the business papers for the Extraordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 11 May.

If endorsed, the plans will then formally go on public exhibition.

Community consultation sessions are scheduled for:

  • Wee Jasper — Wednesday 13 May

  • Binalong — Monday 1 June
