Yass pool to reopen warmer and longer after heating upgrade
Whilst the pool in Yass is now closed for the season, it will return warmer and open for longer following the installation of a new heating system at the Yass Memorial Pool.
Whilst the pool in Yass is now closed for the season, it will return warmer and open for longer following the installation of a new heating system at the Yass Memorial Pool.
The upgrade was marked with a ribbon cutting led by the Yass Swimming Club, which helped secure funding for the project.
Mayor Jasmin Jones told The Southern Wire the pool will change from “stone the crows” cold to “feels tropical”, opening it up to more users across the community.
The heated pool will support everyone from children learning to swim to older residents and those needing low-impact exercise in warmer water.
Mayor Jones thanked members of the Yass Swimming Club and council staff who delivered the project from start to finish.
The mayor was full of praise for lifeguards and staff, saying they kept the community “cool and safe” through a summer of prolonged heat.
The pool will reopen next season with the new system in place, allowing for longer operating periods.
