Christmas carols and markets are a distinct feature across the regions this weekend, as we are only less than 2 weeks away from the big day.

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS

FRIDAY DECEMBER 12

Berrima Public School Carols

The Berrima Public School P&C are hosting their Carols night in the grounds of the school tonight from 6pm – 8pm.

Highlights of the evening include entertainment from Angus Murray and Berrima Public School students as well as a special appearance from Santa.

There will also be face painting for the kids and a sausage sizzle run by the local RFS brigade as well as other food trucks.

Or if they wish, participants can bring their own picnic, as well as a blanket and/or chairs.

Rules are that there are no candles or alcohol allowed on site.

Entry is by gold coin donation.

Berrima Public School is located on Oxley St, Berrima.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 13

Moss Vale Community Christmas Carols, Connect Church

The annual Moss Vale Community Christmas Carols are on again in the grounds of the Connect Christian Church on the corner of Railway and Spring Sts in Moss Vale.

The event starts at 6pm with carols led by Carolyn Miller and the band from 7pm.

Activities include family fun, kids activities, a BBQ and food stalls, performances by school choirs and dance companies, and even craft and plant stalls.

The event is supported by Wingecarribee Shire Council and combined churches around Moss Vale.

Connect Christian Church will also be hosting their Community Christmas Lunch on Sunday afternoon, with all welcome. Cost for lunch is $10 or $25 per family.

Robertson Country Markets, School of Arts

The monthly Robertson Country Markets are on again at the Robertson School of Arts on Hoddle St, starting from 8:30am through until 2pm.

Purchase some unique and recycled wares and even homegrown goodies such as jams and chutneys, fresh vegetables and more.

The Robertson School of Arts is located at 55 Hoddle St, Robertson.

Bong Bong Racecourse Christmas Extravaganza and Santa Photos

Bong Bong Racecourse at East Bowral will play host to a Christmas Extravaganza by Bowral Little School, with traditional Christmas carols, market stalls and professional Santa photos in an outdoor setting (all events weather permitting). Pets are also welcome.

The event runs from 10am until 3pm.

Christmas in the Gardens, Picton Botanic Gardens

The annual Christmas in the Gardens event is on again at Picton Botanic Gardens from 4pm – 9pm.

Now into its 7th year, the event is popular with both Picton locals and others from across the Wollondilly Shire, with market stalls galore, food stalls, family entertainment including Santa photos from 4:45pm onwards, craft activities and of course, the all important Christmas carols from 6pm featuring local schools and community groups.

There will also be kids activities and the Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre box office will be available too. The winners of the 2025 Wollondilly Christmas Lights Competition will also be announced on the night as well.

Picton Botanic Gardens are located at 13 Regreme Rd, Picton.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 13

Coffee and Curves at Burra Bakery, Oakdale

The weekly Coffee and Curves event held by the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC) is on again this Saturday morning from 8am at the Burra Bakery in Oakdale.

Grab a coffee and some breakfast from the bakery’s large menu and then enjoy a cruise around the Wollondilly with fellow motorcycling enthusiasts.

The Burra Bakery is located at 1520 Burragorang Rd, Oakdale.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 14

Picton Cars and Coffee

The monthly Picton Cars and Coffee event is on again in the car park on Davison Lane in Picton from 7am – 9:30am. They will be displaced for the next six months or so whilst the Walton Lane carpark gets the second level added to it by Council.

Grab a coffee from any of the local cafes around the town centre of Picton and there will also be food available from the Lions Club of Tahmoor, and even Santa photos from Breakout Enterprises.

Dave Warner: Music and Memories at Goulburn Mulwaree Library

Musician, screenwriter and author of 15 crime novels, Dave Warner will be sharing the autobiographical incidents behind many of his books along with musical accompaniment by both Dave and his good friend, Tony Durant.

Warner has authored such novels as Summer of Blood, When It Rains, and Double Exxxpresso, just to name a few.

The event commences from 6pm running through until 7:30pm, with tickets costing only $5. This covers drinks, nibblies, book sales and signing as well as merchandise sales.

The Goulburn Mulwaree Library is located at 184-194 Bourke St, Goulburn.

Goulburn Rotary Parkside Markets, Belmore Park

The Goulburn Rotary Parkside Markets are on once again at Belmore Park this Saturday morning from 8:30am – 1:30pm.

At the markets find something for each of the senses, including coffee, flowers, food, preserves, plants, candles, jewellery and so much more.

You might even find a Christmas gift for a loved one or friend as well.

All funds raised from the markets go to support Rotary’s charities and projects.

The markets are located at 3 Montague St, Goulburn.

Goulburn Carols by Candlelight, Belmore Park

Hosted in a partnership between the Hume Conservatorium and Business 2580, the annual Goulburn Carols by Candlelight will be held in Belmore Park, commencing from 4pm.

The event showcase will include performances by the Lilac City Band led by Andy Yule, school choirs from Tambelin and Trinity College, the Goulburn South Public School recorder group, Goulburn Pipes and Drums, St Saviours Cathedral Choir, bands including The Roaches and Slightly Deranged Monkeys, performers from the Rocky Hill Musical Theatre Company, Cara and Braeden Duo, the Lieder Theatre elves led by Director Blake Selmes, an appearance from local theatre actor Brian Hill (also known as Goulburn’s annual ‘Santa’) and Japanese exchange students staffing the merchandise stalls. The night will also be emceed by Josh Matthews and Axel Wellings.

Sing along to all your favourite carols and enjoy food and a costume parade, too.

The event will run from 4pm – 8pm. BYO picnic blanket or chairs. Belmore Park is at 173 Auburn St, Goulburn.
