SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 21

Bundanoon Folk Festival (all weekend at a variety of locations around the village)

The 3rd annual Bundanoon Folk Festival is set to be bigger and better than ever this year, with performances from musicians, poets, dance sessions, a kidsfest and so much more.

There will be over 50 acts across 8 venues throughout the village performing all weekend including at the Bundanoon Hotel, the sportsground, Old Goods Shed (near Bundanoon railway station), Soldiers Memorial Hall, a green room and volunteer respite area at the CWA Rooms, Bundanoon Uniting Church, Holy Trinity Anglican Church and the Bundanoon Public School hall.

A date has also been finalised for the 2026 festival - 20-22 November.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 22

Country Markets @ Peppers Manor House

On the fourth Saturday of every month Peppers Manor House at Sutton Forest holds their Country Markets from 9am to 1pm alongside their high teas and picnic in the garden events.

Stalls include unique gift ideas, artisan crafts and local tasty treats for sale. There will also be live music on the lawns from 9:30am to 1pm.

There is plenty of parking on site and dogs are welcome, as long as they are on a leash.

Berrima Schoolyard Markets

The monthly Berrima Schoolyard Markets are on again with over 50 stalls on offer and a variety of kids activities including a playground, jumping castle, cars, and even the Stephanie Alexander kitchen cafe serving coffee, cakes and a sausage sizzle.

The Berrima Public School is located on Oxley St, Berrima.

Country Music Night at The Oaks Hotel

Come along and have a ‘boot scoot’ and a singalong at The Oaks Hotel’s free Country Music Night tonight from 7pm.

There will be line dancing and entertainment from Lasso Lee and Brock Rodziewicz, as well as the all important $10,000 draw and meat trays on offer.

Santa Arrives in Picton at The Celebration Society

Santa Claus is coming to town in Picton this Saturday when he arrives at The Celebration Society to much fanfare.

He’ll be joined by Mrs. Claus for a morning of gingerbread decorating and festive crafts.

Menangle St will come alive with dancers and music as well as Santa’s big red truck with bells jingling.

Santa will arrive at 11am on the dot, so be sure to not miss out! The Santa arrival is free, but please notify The Celebration Society to notify them you are coming.

Picton Markets, the Picton Showgrounds

A sub branch of The Picton Society, the new Picton Markets will be held this Sunday from 8am – 2pm.

Juliana Stojanovska from sourdough bread creator ‘natureknead’ will be there with her stall along with a variety of other stalls as well as ‘Hamfest’ - a unique festival for those who are fans of the ham radio hobby. There will also be food vans selling everything from bacon and egg rolls to gozleme and tea and coffee and much more.

So get down to the Picton Showground at 151-155 Menangle St, Picton.

Goulburn Uniting Church Op-Shop and Café

Held every Friday from 11:30am-2pm at Goulburn Uniting Church, the Friday Café is an important meeting place for the lonely, disadvantaged and those who are seeking help in their community.

A simple meal is provided for them at a highly affordable price, and the op-shop is also available for finding a bargain.

The cafe is located at the Wesley Centre of the Goulburn Uniting Church, 43 Goldsmith St, Goulburn.

Goulburn Farmers Market, Peden Pavilion, Goulburn Showgrounds

Both the Goulburn Farmers Market and Makers Market will be held this Saturday in the Peden Pavilion of the Goulburn Showgrounds from 8am – 11am.

The Farmers Market is a cooperative venture supporting local producers and farmers to sell their wares. The Makers Market also sells high quality arts and crafts items from local artists and makers. Especially in the lead up to Christmas, it is a great opportunity to find that perfect gift for a special someone.

The Peden Pavilion of the Goulburn Showgrounds is located at Goulburn Recreation Area, 45 Braidwood Rd, Goulburn.

Aussie Night Markets, Goulburn Showgrounds

It seems to be the weekend for markets here in Goulburn, with the Aussie Night Markets – Xmas Edition held this Sunday from 4pm to 10pm at the Goulburn Recreation Area.

Entry to the event is only $2, and for that visitors get:

  • Christmas retail shopping;

  • Food trucks;

  • Food stalls;

  • Desserts; and

  • Kids can enjoy the Elves Playground as well as rides & jumping castles for the little ones.

For $30, kids can get Unlimited rides wristbands (which can only be bought directly at the rides booth during the event).

There will also be carnival games, plus ride the trackless train, get a visit from Santa on the night with photo opportunities, light up the Christmas tree with elves, and kids can write their letters to Santa, as the elves and helpers will have a big red South Pole letter box to mail them to him.

There will also be a full stage show with entertainment from Dauntless Crew and carols as well as an appearance from The Grinch!
