FRIDAY DECEMBER 5
Peter Campbell – Poetic and Powerful – at Music Cafe by Night in Robertson
The second in the Music Café series at CTC Robertson, ‘Peter Campbell – Poetic and Powerful at Music Cafe by Night’ promises to be a night of reflective poetry and singing from Australian singer-songwriter, Peter Campbell.
His music is a cross between alternative and folk and focuses on ‘communities in action,’ addressing issues to affect social change.
The CTC Café and bar will be open as usual to purchase drinks and snacks.
The event will run from 7pm – 9pm, with the café open from 6:30pm.
Tickets to the night’s event cost $25 for adults and $20 for concessions, with kids 16 years and under for a gold coin donation.

Angels in our Town Parade and Festival of Lights opening, Bowral
As mentioned in The Southern Wire earlier this week, the third annual Angels in Our Town Parade and Festival of Lights commences this Saturday night, with festivities starting from 5:30pm.
The parade down Bowral’s Bong Bong St will pay tribute to our area’s first responders – ambulance paramedics, police officers, firefighters, Fire and Rescue officers, RFS volunteers and other unsung heroes that assist us in the community each and every day.
After the parade, Wingecarribee Shire Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick will then flick the switch to turn on the lights of the 2025 Christmas tree in Corbett Plaza.
Santa will then arrive in Corbett Gardens along with all the lights as well as a concert featuring local performers including Serendipity the Choir, Skylar Carmichael singing the official ‘Angels in Our Town’ song and accompanying the crowd in traditional Christmas carols, and much more.
So, get down to the main street of Bowral and Corbett Gardens to join in the fun. The Festival of Lights will then run through until Boxing Day (December 26).
This is being run in conjunction with Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Light Up Christmas initiative, with events running right through until Sunday 14 December.

A Special Christmas BUNDANOON MARKET
The Bundanoon Market will have a distinct Christmas feel this Sunday, with all the usual artisan pieces for sale and one of a kind handmade gifts, food, drink, etc., but with a distinct Christmas feel to them.
There will even be fresh Robertson potatoes on sale, as well as live entertainment and music as well as delicious international food available, too!
The Bundanoon Markets are held at Bundanoon Public School, Church St, Bundanoon from 8:30am – 2pm.

Picton Twilight Christmas Markets
The special Picton Twilight Christmas Markets will be on again tonight from 5pm- 9pm at the Picton Showgrounds.
There will be Santa photos, rides and ponies for the kids, and the traditional food and market stalls on offer throughout the evening. There will also be a Christmas raffle with plenty of prizes on offer.
The Picton Showgrounds are at 151 – 155 Menangle St, Picton. Parking for the markets is in Victoria St.

Light Up The Oaks Christmas Night
The Dudley Chesham Sportsground at The Oaks will come alive this Saturday night for the 21st annual Light Up The Oaks Christmas Night from 2pm – 8pm.
Bring a picnic blanket to enjoy the night, as well as a chance for the kids to visit Santa, there will also be live entertainment, markets and food stalls and rides for the kids, too.
It’s all being presented by The Oaks Community Chamber of Commerce.

Santa Steam Train Rides at The NSW Rail Museum, Thirlmere
Families and kids can join Santa this weekend on the 40-minute train ride from Thirlmere to Buxton and return. Included in the ticket is also the chance to participate in a Christmas scavenger hunt, stories, performances and singalongs, as well as face painting and a whole lot more.
The event will run from 10:30am – 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets start at $35 for adults, $25 for seniors/concessions, and $15 for children aged 2 to 17. Children under 2 are free.

The Art of Christmas Bows workshop, The Celebration Society, Picton
Learn how to make a variety of Christmas bows perfect for the Christmas tree, wrapping gifts and even Christmas wreaths.
Participants can bring in their own ribbon from home or choose from The Celebration Society’s collection.
Get in quick, as the places at these workshops are popular. The workshop will run from 1:30pm – 2:30pm.
General admission to the workshop costs $29 with general fees of $3, so altogether it is $32.

Live life in colour—NSW Seniors Regional Christmas Concert, Goulburn Performing Arts Centre (GPAC)
As part of the NSW Seniors Festival, the Goulburn Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) will host two free Seniors Christmas Concerts – the first at 10:30am to 12 noon and the second from 1:30pm to 3pm.
The concerts will consist of a star-studded line up, with performers including jazz vocalist Emma Pask, former Hi-5 band member Nathan Foley, acclaimed musical theatre performer Sylvie Palladino and celebrated tenor Lorenzo Rositano.
Seniors will be invited to sing along to some Christmas classics and join in the fun.
The Goulburn Performing Arts Centre is located at 163 Auburn St, Goulburn.

St Saviours Community Markets, St Saviours Cathedral Hall
The monthly St Saviours Community Markets are on again, with a wide variety of stalls on offer selling everything from local produce to cakes and slices, as well as plants, antiques, knickknacks and much more.

STMVG Annual Charity Toy Drive 2025
The Street Torque Motor Vehicle Group Inc (STMVG) are holding their annual Charity Toy Drive this Sunday from 10am- 3pm at the Goulburn Workers Arena, Findlay St, Goulburn.
For 2025 they are partnering with charity ‘A Little Ray of Giving’, with all donations and money raised going back into the communities of Goulburn, Crookwell and Gunning supporting foster families and children.
You can also support the Toy Drive by donating a toy, gift card, school supplies, or a cash donation. Also grab a free bacon and egg roll while there.
The event itself will comprise of two parts – a cruise from Goulburn to Crookwell (if there is enough interest) at around 12 noon, and a Classic and Custom Vehicle display.
