$1.4 million boost for Goulburn economy
The Minns Government has announced a significant boost to the Goulburn economy with a $1.14 grant to truck manufacturing company Vacvator Pty Ltd.

The Minns Government has announced a significant boost to the Goulburn economy with a $1.14 grant to truck manufacturing company Vacvator Pty Ltd.
The grant is expected to help create up to 15 new jobs.
Vacvator Pty Ltd, established in 2006, builds state-of-the-art vacuum excavation equipment and trucks for non-destructive digging and hydro-excavation from its Goulburn-based manufacturing facility.
It will use the grant and more than $500,000 of its own money to extend its workshop, enhance automation and streamline workflows.
The funding will maximise the company’s production capacity and increase its output from one-and-a-half trucks a month to three trucks a month.
Job creation will be across the manufacturing, engineering, logistics and construction sectors.
Company owner and director Andrew Rowlands said the grant had aligned well with Vacvator’s own investment.
“Through continual improvement, Vacvator has developed a technologically advanced, well-engineered product that gives us an edge in a competitive global market,” Mr Rowlands said.
“As one of the few remaining vacuum excavation manufacturers that is still 100 per cent Australian-owned, we are proud to contribute to Australian manufacturing.
“This investment will help us increase production, create skilled local jobs and continue to supply an Australian made product to infrastructure and mining projects across the country.”
Minister for Regional NSW Tara Moriarty said the Minns Government wanted to ensure that regional NSW was a leader in delivering world-class products.
She said there were many companies in regional areas setting the benchmark for innovation.
“Goulburn’s Vacvator will be able to continue innovating and adopting new technologies in an expanded space to grow this exciting business – which is supporting so many other essential industries as well as creating new jobs,” Ms Moriarty said.
