Theatrical combat will be a feature of the entertainment at this year’s Bundanoon Highland Gathering.
Organisers have confirmed that the Swordplay School of Theatrical Fencing and Stage Combat will be performing throughout the day on April 18.
They will be performing on the northern side of the oval from 11am through to 2.30pm with demonstrations as well as activities for visitors.
Swordplay is a professional theatrical fencing and stage combat troupe based in Campbelltown and Blacktown for 18 years with a variety of skill levels ranging from beginners to a performance troupe.
It offers an opportunity to experience and learn the stage combat and theatrical weapon techniques that are used in the theatre and film industry.
Swordplay’s performance troupe is experienced in entertaining members of the public with daring sword fights and roving characters and promises something “different and exciting”.

A spokesperson said Swordplay was excited to be returning to Brigadoon and celebrating Scottish culture and heritage.
The Bundanoon Highland Gathering (Brigadoon) will be held on Saturday, April 18 at the Bundanoon Oval.
Tickets will be available at the gate.
The event is expected to attract more than 12,000 people from across the country.
Besides being one of the most successful events on the local tourism calendar it is also widely regarded as one of the finest Highland Gatherings in Australia.
