Teen dies after being hit by a truck on Hume Highway at Sutton Forest

A man has died after being hit by a truck near Golden Vale Rd and the Hume Highway in the early hours of this morning.

A man has died after being hit by a truck in the state’s south.

At about 5am this morning (Friday 13 February), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Hume Highway and Golden Vale Road, Sutton Forest, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District were told the man was allegedly struck by a truck as he entered the roadway.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrian – a man aged in his late teens – however he could not be revived and died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the truck – a 48-year-old man – was not injured and taken to Bowral Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police have established a crime scene which will be forensically examined by police.

Both lanes of the highway have been closed until further notice ,with traffic diversions in place via Berrima Rd and Argyle St through Moss Vale, and will cause extensive delays for some time, with motorists advised to avoid the area.
