Local residents will have an opportunity to support the Bundanoon RSL Sub-branch this weekend and enjoy a wonderful afternoon’s entertainment at the same time.
The sub-branch will hold its annual fundraising concert this Sunday (November 8) at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hall.
All proceeds from ticket sales will support the sub-branch’s work with veterans.
‘Swingtime in Bundanoon’ will feature some top-class musicians from Sydney who are all donating their time to support the sub-branch.
The Bundanoon Pipe Band will also be performing.
Event organiser and RSL sub-branch life member Kevin Tubb said the concert was held every year in the lead up to Remembrance Day (November 11).
Last year’s concert was attended by around 85 people.
Mr Tubb said this year’s event was designed with audience participation in mind and he is keen to see people on their feet dancing, singing and clapping to the swinging sounds of ‘Overload’.
He wants everyone to go home happy.
Mr Tubb said the concert would commence at 2pm and would include two 40-minute sets from ‘Overload’ and a short Remembrance Day service at intermission.
Doors will be open from 1.30pm.
Mr Tubb said the Bundanoon Pipe Band would perform a ‘March In’ at the start of the concert and would also perform as part of the service at intermission.
He said the hall could fit approximately 150 people and he would like to see it at capacity. Tickets are $20 per and are available online at www.trybooking.com
They will also be available at the door.
Those people attending are welcome to take their own food and drinks.
Poppies and other Remembrance Day merchandise will be available for purchase at the door.
