A large-scale land search is underway south of Goulburn as police seek public assistance to locate a missing man with a number of health conditions.

James Power, 26, was last in contact with a friend by phone about 6.20pm on Tuesday while on a property at Windellama, about 40 kilometres south of Goulburn.

When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to The Hume Police District were notified on Thursday and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police have since located Mr Power's vehicle unattended on the property.

Authorities say there are serious concerns for his welfare due to a number of health conditions.

Mr Power is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build, with short brown hair.

Police have not been able to confirm what he was wearing when he was last seen.

He is known to frequent the Windellama, Marulan, Tarago and Sutherland areas.
