The new roundabout at the intersection of Clinton and Deccan Streets in Goulburn is set to reopen ahead of schedule, with traffic expected to return to the intersection from Monday afternoon, weather permitting.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council said the project had originally been scheduled for completion by the end of June, however strong construction progress had allowed the works to finish earlier than expected.

The works form part of the West Goulburn Freight Route Upgrade Project and included the construction of a single-lane roundabout, pavement reconstruction, drainage improvements, utility adjustments, signage and line marking aimed at improving safety and traffic flow.

Council said final works currently underway include asphalt works, turfing, line marking, signage and bollard installation.

The reopening remains subject to weather conditions and final completion checks.

Council has thanked residents, businesses and motorists for their patience during the construction period, which included road closures, detours and ongoing construction activity.
