Rocky Hill War Memorial shortlisted for award
Conservation works at Goulburn’s iconic Rocky Hill War Memorial Tower have been recognised at state level after the project was shortlisted for the 2026 National Trust (NSW) Heritage Awards.

Conservation works at Goulburn’s iconic Rocky Hill War Memorial Tower have been recognised at state level after the project was shortlisted for the 2026 National Trust (NSW) Heritage Awards.
The project has been shortlisted in the Built Conservation category following major restoration works completed ahead of the memorial’s centenary in December last year.
The works addressed long-standing concrete deterioration and water ingress issues at the landmark tower.
According to Goulburn Mulwaree Council, the restoration included concrete repairs, replacement of deteriorating structural steel, stonework repairs and protective coatings designed to preserve the memorial into the future.
A local contractor carried out the conservation works.
Goulburn Mulwaree Mayor Nina Dillon said the recognition highlighted the importance of preserving local heritage assets.
“Rocky Hill War Memorial Tower holds deep meaning for our community as a place of remembrance and connection,” Cr Dillon said.
“This project has ensured its preservation with care and respect, and it’s wonderful to see that work recognised at a state level following the Memorial’s centenary.”
The winner will be announced Friday.
