Physical Culture takes centre stage in Goulburn
The best of Australian Physical Culture will be on display in Goulburn this weekend, with up to 400 competitors expected to take part in the 2026 Goulburn Physie Interclub Competition.
The best of Australian Physical Culture will be on display in Goulburn this weekend, with up to 400 competitors expected to take part in the 2026 Goulburn Physie Interclub Competition.
The two-day event will be held at Veolia Arena on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 August, attracting competitors from across New South Wales and the ACT.
Hosted by the Goulburn Physie Club, the competition will feature participants from just five years of age through to women aged 50 and over, showcasing strength, flexibility, fitness and performance through the BJP Physical Culture syllabus ahead of upcoming Zone Championships.
Saturday's program will feature Ladies and Senior divisions for competitors aged 13 years and over, while Sunday will be dedicated to Junior competitors, from preschoolers through to 12 years of age.
Around 80 local girls and women will represent the Goulburn Physie Club, with more than eight visiting clubs expected to travel to the city for the event.
The competition is also expected to provide a significant economic boost, with organisers estimating more than $189,000 will flow into the local economy as competitors, families and supporters fill local accommodation, dine at cafes and restaurants, and shop with local businesses.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council says the event showcases both the growing popularity of Physical Culture and the strong sense of community that surrounds the sport.
Spectators are encouraged to attend and experience the athleticism, precision and artistry of Physical Culture firsthand.
The competition will be held at Veolia Arena, 45 Braidwood Road, Goulburn. Doors open at 11am on Saturday, with competition beginning at noon. On Sunday, doors open at 9am, with competition starting at 10am.
