One person dead and one in critical condition after vehicle crash at Gunning

It was a day of tragedy on the region’s roads yesterday after two fatalities in the one day on the Hume Highway.
One person died and another is in a critical condition after a single-vehicle crash in the state’s Southern Tablelands yesterday morning at around 6:45am.
Emergency services were called to the Gundaroo Rd exit of the Hume Highway near Gunning, following reports a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled.
A passenger of the vehicle was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however died at the scene.
The driver was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
According to transport app Live Traffic NSW, all southbound lanes of the Hume Highway at Gunning were closed and diversions were put in place until around 2pm yesterday afternoon.
