One Nation branch announces new committees
The Eden-Monaro branch of the One Nation Party has announced new executive and auxiliary committee as it looks to build on the party’s recent popularity surge.
The Eden-Monaro branch of the One Nation Party has announced new executive and auxiliary committee as it looks to build on the party’s recent popularity surge.
The executive committee is comprised of Bega Valley Shire councillor David Porter as president, Al Napier as secretary and Josh Shoobridge as treasurer.
The auxiliary committee is comprised of Julie Giucci as events coordinator, Michael Freeman as fundraising coordinator and Grant Jewkes as volunteer coordinator.
The announcement comes as the branch hosts a number of social gatherings across the region providing members with an opportunity to enjoy “good conversation” with “like minded” people.
The first social gathering was held last Sunday (September 20) at the Goulburn Workers Club with others planned for Cooma on October 1 and Bungendore on October 8.
Recent polling puts the primary vote for One Nation somewhere between 23.5 per cent 30 per cent.
One poll in late August put it ahead of Labor and three of the four recent polls put it ahead of the Coalition.
Polling suggests that the contest in many electorates at the next Federal election will be between the ALP and One Nation.
The party’s Eden-Monaro branch was officially launched at an event in Queanbeyan on January 16 this year.
Members have hosted a number of stall information at community events across the region in recent months.
