An off-duty police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged assault at a concert in Bowral earlier this year.

Police allege that shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday, March 28, officers attached to The Hume Police District were attending a concert in Bowral when patrons complained about the behaviour of a man and a woman at the venue.

According to police, officers were attempting to remove the man when a 26-year-old woman allegedly intervened and assaulted two police officers. Police further allege one officer's spectacles were smashed during the incident.

The woman was taken to Bowral Hospital after claiming to be unwell but allegedly left a short time later.

Following inquiries, the woman, who is a constable attached to a southern command, was today issued with a Court Attendance Notice.

She has been charged with four offences: two counts of hindering or resisting police in the execution of duty and two counts of assaulting police.
