New $42m Crago Mill Chambers to host first council meeting
Yass Valley Council will hold its April council meeting in the new Crago Mill Chambers for the first time at 4pm today.

Yass Valley Council will hold its April council meeting in the new Crago Mill Chambers for the first time at 4pm today, marking a major milestone in the long-running project.
The meeting, starting at 4pm, follows the issuing of a partial occupation certificate, allowing council to begin using the new administration building while final landscaping works are completed.
The Crago Mill Precinct, located at the corner of Comur and Adele streets in Yass, is a $42 million development bringing together council offices, a new library and an emergency operations centre on a single site.
Mayor Jasmin Jones said the first meeting in the new chambers marked an important step for the region, with the precinct expected to play a key role in the future of the Yass CBD.
Chief executive officer Gayleen Burley said staff were preparing to move into the new facilities, with the transition to take place in stages from early May to minimise disruption.
The public is invited to attend today’s meeting in person, with council staff on hand to direct visitors to the new chambers.
Final landscaping and external works are expected to continue over the coming weeks.
A community open day at the precinct is planned for May 9.
