A major overhaul of the NSW TrainLink regional coach network was unveiled this week by the State Government.

Key changes for our region include a new Yass–Young coach connection and expanded Goulburn–Canberra services operating seven days a week, including weekends for the first time.

The new Yass route is expected to slash travel times by up to two hours for some passengers travelling between Young, Sydney and Canberra by linking directly with rail services at Yass Junction.

Meanwhile, the Goulburn–Canberra–Goulburn day return service will now run daily, providing improved access for commuters, medical appointments, students and travellers heading into the ACT.

Regional Transport Minister Jenny Aitchison said the changes were aimed at restoring regional transport links and improving connections for country communities.

NSW TrainLink says the upgrades were based on community feedback and are designed to create smoother connections between coaches and trains.

The upgraded coaches with wheelchair access, toilets, charging ports, and seatbelts will roll out from 1 July.
