New amenities on the way for Bungonia Village Park
Construction has started on a new amenities block at Bungonia Village Park, replacing facilities that have been closed since 2019.
Construction has started on a new amenities block at Bungonia Village Park, replacing facilities that have been closed since 2019.
The NSW Government has contributed $228,648 through the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund towards the project, which will deliver four public toilets, accessible facilities, adult and baby change amenities, a shower, accessible pathways and accessible parking.
The project will transform a disused tennis court in the centre of Bungonia into the new amenities facility.
Located about 25 minutes east of Goulburn and at the gateway to Bungonia National Park, the village park is used by residents, campers and visitors travelling through the Southern Tablelands.
The new amenities are expected to encourage longer stays and support community events and growing visitation to Bungonia's heritage attractions, walking trails and surrounding natural areas.
The project follows years of planning and work by volunteers after the park's former drop toilets closed in 2019.
Bungonia Park Land Manager Chair Richard Langston said funding from the NSW Government and support from Goulburn Mulwaree Council had helped make the project possible.
“The NSW Government grants received through the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund and Local Small Commitments Allocation, along with funding and support from Goulburn Mulwaree Council, are valued investments that have helped make this project possible,” Mr Langston said.
“Located within Bungonia Village Park - the green heart of our village - the new amenities block will provide lasting benefits for residents, visitors and everyone who comes to experience the heritage and natural beauty of our region.”
The project has also received support from local community organisations, historical groups and residents.
Construction is expected to be completed by mid-November 2026.
