Motorists reminded of night closures on Hampden Bridge

Local motorists are being reminded of upcoming night closures of Hampden Bridge on Moss Vale Road in Kangaroo Valley for repair work.

Local motorists are being reminded of upcoming night closures of Hampden Bridge on Moss Vale Road in Kangaroo Valley for repair work.

Weather permitting, the work will be carried out on Sunday, August 30(10pm to 5am), Monday, August 31 to Thursday, September 3 (6pm to 6am), Sunday, September 6 (10pm to 5am) and Monday, September 7 to Thursday, September 10 (8pm to 5am).

Detours will be in place via the Illawarra Highway at Macquarie Pass and the Princes Highway, adding up to 90 minutes to travel times. There will be no night closures on Macquarie Pass during this night work.

Pedestrians will be able to cross the bridge during the work under the guidance of traffic control.

Night work that doesn’t require closure of the bridge will be carried out on Friday, September 4.

Stop/slow traffic control will be in place during this time.

This is the last block of night work in the 2026 program of repair work.

From Monday, September 7, work will continue on weekdays between 7am and 6pm until the end of October, weather permitting.

During the daytime work, Hampden Bridge will remain open to traffic under stop/slow traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 10 km/h for trucks and buses for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
