A number of events across the region are set to benefit under the NSW Government’s 2026/27 Regional Event Fund.

The Government will provide more than $1.3 million to support ‘grassroots’ events and help build the NSW regional visitor economy.

Funding was announced this week in three different streams – the Incubator Event stream for new events, the Flagship Event stream for emerging events and the Event Development Stream for established and proven events.

Steampunk Goulburn was named as a recipient in the Flagship Event stream while Southern Voices in Goulburn, the Jam Exchange in Bowral, the Tarago Medieval Faire in Tarago and the Southern Highlands Thoroughbred Week at Wallaby Hill were all named as recipients in the Incubator Event stream.

Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper said the Government was committed to investing in regional tourism “because we understand that when we get visitors into our regions they stay longer and spend more in our great state”.

He described regional events as “the heartbeat of their communities” and the Government was proud to back them.

He said with 64 million visitors and $27 billion in expenditure in the year ending March 2026, Regional NSW was not just holding its own but was “leading the country”.

“This Government is determined to keep it that way,” Mr Kamper said, with an ambitious target of $44 billion in regional expenditure by 2035.

Since its establishment the Regional Event Fund has supported more than 650 events with more than $17 million in funding.
