Line dancers boot-scoot the night away at Robbo Show
Country music rang out through the mist at the Robertson Show last Friday night for the ‘Muster in the Mist’ show.

Country music rang out through the mist at the Robertson Show last Friday night for the ‘Muster in the Mist’ show.
Part of the entertainment for the night was Dee Haining and her line dancing group who performed two of their dances and also demonstrated how to dance in two others.
“I probably had about 20 or so of my own groups of dancers, plus maybe half a dozen or so from the audience who were keen,” Ms. Haining told The Southern Wire.
“We danced to a classic country song from Brooks & Dunn – ‘Boot Scootin’ Boogie’, a more modern pop style one in Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shiver’, as well as the bar song ‘Tipsy’ by Shaboozey.
“I also taught the moves to two dances and we then demonstrated a couple as well. All in all, it was a great night, despite the fog!”
The line dancing group were also joined by the Sea Shanties Choir, local singer-songwriter Loki Hines and The Voice Season Four Grand-Finalist, Liam Maihi.
Ms. Haining said that line dancing has become more popular in recent times, and she runs classes at the Robertson Bowling Club on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which she only started back in October last year.
“I teach a beginners class at the Robertson Bowling Club on Tuesday evenings from 6:15pm – 7:30pm, and then an Intermediate class from 7:30pm – 8:45pm,” she said.
“The club staff have said it’s been great seeing everyone in action and I even had a young guy come up to me and tell me its part of his everyday ‘therapy’. As part of our dancing, we don’t do ‘mistakes’, we do ‘variations’.”
