Letter to the Editor: Roadwork timing
Has Transport for NSW checked the local events calendar for the timing of these roadworks
Hello The Southern Wire,
Has Transport for NSW checked the local events calendar for the timing of these roadworks (https://www.thesouthernwire.com.au/maintenance-work-on-kangaloon-road-starting-next-week-2026-10-31) - three weeks from 2 November?
That timetable is subject to weather, which we know can be fickle, and with the dismal history of roadworks in this Shire, a delay can be expected.
The Bong Bong Picnic Races are to be held on 20th November, and the roadworks are to be done right outside the racecourse. The timing is impeccable, just as was Council’s schedule to dig up sections of Bong Bong Street in Bowral this year during Tulip Time.
