Goulburn’s Country Women’s Association celebrates their centenary
The Country Women’s Association (CWA) Southern Tablelands Group celebrated their 100th Birthday on Saturday as well as hosting their AGM in Goulburn.
The Country Women’s Association (CWA) Southern Tablelands Group celebrated their 100th Birthday on Saturday as well as their AGM in Goulburn.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman was invited as a special guest and cut the cake along with Group President Maria Porreca and State President Tanya Jolly.
“I was delighted to join the celebration and thank the many members in attendance for the wonderful work they do in each of their communities,” Mrs. Tuckerman said.
“It was a pleasure to welcome the State President Tanya Jolly to Goulburn and hear Branch reports from across the region. Many thanks also to Group President Maria Porreca and the executive for their kind invitation. It was such an enjoyable day. Happy 100th Birthday!”
The nearby Braidwood branch of CWA also celebrated their 100th anniversary as well.
The CWA have three branches running in Goulburn who all meet on different days and times of the month.
The first is the CWA Goulburn Branch, who meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 am at 2 Montague St, Goulburn (opposite Belmore Park). To join contact their secretary Leigh Rose on 0432 395 455 or email goulburncwabranch@gmail.com.
The second branch is the Goulburn Evening Branch, who meet on the 4th Monday of every month at 6:30pm at the Cascades Restaurant, Best Western Hotel, 77 Lagoon Street, Goulburn. To join this branch, contact secretary Margaret Clinton on 0419 163 841 or email geb.secretary@hotmail.com.
