Goulburn prepares for the 146th agricultural show
This February and March is show season across the Southern Highlands and Southern Tablelands, and Goulburn is no exception, with their 146th Goulburn Show on this Saturday and Sunday at the Goulburn Recreation Area on Braidwood Rd.

This February and March is show season across the Southern Highlands and Southern Tablelands, and Goulburn is no exception, with their 146th Goulburn Show on this Saturday and Sunday at the Goulburn Recreation Area on Braidwood Rd.
There is so much variety to choose from this year, with the traditional pavilion exhibits on display in the Veolia Arena, and in the Rodeo Arena the DockDogs shows every two hours from 10am, Downunder Working Dogs demonstrations and the Outback Jack Stockman Show, with three performances at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
In the Grandstand Grassed Area, the Mountain Dew Band will perform from 9am on Saturday, with the Show’s official opening from 11am and Junior Showgirl and Master Showman from 11:30am.
The Australia-wide ‘Mulletfest’ competition will also kick off from 12 noon, as well as a High School Music Extravaganza from 1pm.
And of course for the kids there is also the all-important Side Show Alley rides and show bags for sale over both days.
Sunday’s program in the Grandstand Grassed Area will include a Woodchop from 10:30am, the K9 Super Wall Mini Dog Challenge from 11am, a Wood Auction at 12:30pm, the Goulburn Farmer K9 Super Wall at 1pm, the Young Farmers Challenge from 2pm, and at 2:30pm the winners of the Car/Ute/Motorcycle Show will be announced.
Both commercial station GNFM 107.7 and community radio station RAMFM 103.3 will live broadcast all day on Saturday, plus the Country Womens Association will be serving delicious Devonshire Teas.
There will also be traditional displays from all the city’s various societies and guilds including the Goulburn Knitter’s Guild, Goulburn Spinners and Weavers, Goulburn Region Woodworkers, Gem Society, Black & Coloured Sheep Wool Display, and much more.
Also for the kids there will be a colouring-in competition and scarecrow competition.
The Goulburn Men’s Shed plus the RFS and SES will also be available with their stalls,too.
So get down to the Goulburn Recreation Area at 45 Braidwood Rd this Saturday and Sunday.
There is an opportunity to either purchase a one day or a two-day ticket.
A one-day ticket costs $20 for adults, $5 child (6-16 years), concession $10 (purchaser must show their pension card or similar concession card) or a Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) is $35.
A two-day ticket for an adult is $30, Concession $15, Child (6-16 years) $10 and a Family ticket $45.
